Brad here's the deal. I got the insight as to what probably happened after talking to the rep. They, the UPS Stores, don't make a dime on customers that ship on others account numbers and from what I was told their system, iship, doesn't accept third party account numbers or at the very least they don't use them because if there are any accesorial charges after the initial charge that happen in transit, they get billed to the UPS Store, not the Customers third party number.
So it makes sense that the UPS store person, who is usually the owner, told your guy he can't do it in his system and to use what they call an ASD or Air Shipping Document. Based on the tracking number, that is exactly what was used. I think your guy got duped big time because the UPS Stores wont do it, I got this from a great source and he's seen it a bunch of times before. He probably filled out the paper not understanding the repercussions and those UPS store owners could give a shit. He did say it would probabaly come down to a dispute with the store owner and not UPS. He could call his rep and work something out if you push him from what my guy said. I think the shipper is a little less of a rat initially then I thought but should help make it right.
