That's the easy way to go... he should at least have his name and reputation known so he does not get any more business. It's like asking for the death sentence rather than living with the guilt. (except within a much smaller magnitude )

I can't tell if it was carelessness, stupidity, malicious intent or what on the seller's part, but he needs to make it right, and your offers are more than generous which you don't have to do either. But confronted with the facts, he still isn't willing to make it right, so I'll make a judgement call: dirtbag. Dirtbags with entitlement syndrome will be around as long as we allow it though. Dirtbag fits IMO, because either way, he either doesn't see it or won't admit it was his mistake/fault and own up to it, and make it right. Same kind of dirtbag that would likely steal from his family, friends, welfare, or sell drugs to kids etc., if it served his purpose. Either you have integrity or you don't...pretty cut dried here who has it, and who doesn't.

Brad you are doing the right thing to offer to eat half the cost but the fact the guy wont speak up speaks volumes about his character.

Because he didnt have anything to gain out of it.....and the UPS store did.....and the fact that the UPS store here has tried to do the same thing to me also. THe guy is an idiot, yeah, but there is very little chance he was in cahoots with the UPS store owner for a kickback over shipping...I just cant see someone going out of his way to screw Brad for 400 dollars to help out the UPS store owner and have to go through all this headache???

Long story short I should not of given the guy my account # and trusted he would do as instructed. I assumed he would behave as I would behave and for that at best I am naive and at worst a moron.

Also I did call UPS and the UPS Store in question and got nowhere fast. They pointed back to the guy in possession of my UPS account # and said its was his direction to send it 2nd day air and I have to pay the bill for his choice of shipping method.

I am still trying with them but hope is low I will get anywhere with them.

The bill is $463. In fairness the $63 is probably what it would of cost for regular UPS ground so no wories there so we are talking about the $400 overage.

In the spirit of taking the bullet evenly with the guy I would be willing to split the pain $200 each with the guy but he does not seem willing to do anything here.

I have given him days to respond and I know he is reading this thread. I will give it 24 hours to see if he PM's me to try to make it right if not then I will post up the guys Name and RT Username.

The whole thing sucks and I wish he would of just contacted me and tried to work something out...

Hell he has stuff for sale right now in the classifieds I would take just to try to recoup my loss but he isn't offering up any solutions right now.

Did you ask about the weight being way over what the item actually was at the UPS store. I would fight that part with them. That cab was not 200lbs, that should knock some off the bill.

These type of situations suck, the only winner was the UPS store
