Original koko boost or reloaded

As I saw when I was asking the same question, "There is a reason you see reloaded for sale all the time and not the Original".

IMO the Koko v1 is near perfect. The only thing that would make it better to me is if both boosts were stackable and had separate volume controls.

I prefer the original because it sounds clearer plus you can dial in no gain if you like. The reloaded boosts the signal no matter what.

They are stacked, well it's more of a cascading thing. The level of the "boost" knob determines the volume of the mid boost. You might already know that but I agree V1 is nearly a perfect boost. It would be cool to have a separate volume knob for the Mid boost.

You cannot use both at the same time is what I mean.

I would like to use the mid boost always and use the clean boost as an extra lead boost. Not possible with the pedal. The clean boost is useless for me tbh but the mid boost sounds great.

I love the original because not only does the clean/left boost work incredibly well on it's own, but it also stacks really well in front of OD pedals for extra boosting optional fun.

got 'em both
If space is paramount, go with the Reloaded
The original may be a little clearer, but it is a close-run thing and not relevant once the amp is cooking
if there is a difference between minimum Boost settings as was said, I've not noticed as I wouldn't use just the Mid on its own
the extra control of Mid Q on the reloaded may be useful, although I use it straight up, so not for me as yet
The Boost is a gain control, not a clean boost, so a misnomer of sorts
Great pedals

V1 best boost there is imo!
Tried other boutique and not, I knew immediately

got them side by side
the clarity difference was due to power
feed them with 18V and both are the same, more headroom than at 9V
at zero Boost on both pedals, there is no gain increase in green mode (or both modes on the original - see below)

there are differences I'd forgotten about
on the original, the Boost is always active, whether in green or red mid boost mode, so you have full control over the gain
on the Reloaded, in red mode, the Boost control is inactive, and there is a preset gain boost
staying with the Reloaded, in red mode there is more control over the mid voicing with the Mid Q being additional, and the voicing switch is over new freq ranges
that is an improvement

I enjoy having both and can see them used in different ways
for a straight-up volume & gain boost, both do the job
to add mids and vary the gain over a wide range, the original is best
for a preset boost and to adjust the mids more dramatically with more choice over frequencies, the Reloaded offers the better option
it also takes up less real estate

Cool. Got an original on the way tomorrow. I think it will be good on both my amps, so we will find out? I bet I've owned 20+ overdrives in the last 15 years. Most good, some terrible. Currently happy with the two I have, but I always like to try more. Lol. There are definitely plenty out there this day and age
