Most of the newer metal has great instrumentation....w/crappy vocalization. I wish the cds were dual sided...one w/vocals and the other w/out. I know what side I'd be listening too.

There has been non "heavy" music with those themes before the more extreme stuff started in the 80s. Hell, country music has a lot of the themes you just listed. Also, there is positive metal. You just need to know where to look.

When Gary comes to my place, I see him play these fast rythyms and it blows my mind! Very intricate and F A S T !! He's got this style mastered!!! Holy smokes, he's good!
I can solo all over the place but couldn't play like he does to save my life !!!
So... I do respect what Metal players do!!

Also when I bring the amp back I absolutely need access to your tube tester. My Mesa 400 died spectacularly recently and took out a couple El34s. I also had Sylvania 6L6s in there and while they look OK, I need to know how they measure up !
