I have found an amp i want that doesnt have an fx loop. are there any boxes, pedals that can basically create an fx loop without modding the amp?

Bad Cat Unleash. Fryette Power Station. At NAMM, some company just released a 2x12 cabinet that has a separate power amp and 2x8 speakers for an all-in-one wet/dry set up. Any line-out box plus a separate power amp and cab will get it done. But the Unleash and Power Station are going to be the simplest set up.

both are so expensive!! I just want the fx loop not the attenuation stuff.

For what you're asking to do, you have to load down and re-amplify the signal, which is what is making those units expensive. The alternative is to run a line out to another amp into a separate cab, which maybe could be done cheaper but probably not and would be a lot more hassle.

Or just run everything up front. That's what I do. Delay sounds kinda meh, but gets the job done.

If your on the cheap, a delay/echo wont sound great out front unless your running an echoplex. Only delay ive ever experienced that sounded great in front of the preamp. Reamping works great too, but your gonna have to save and buy the right gear to pull it off.

Suhr line out from the speaker and run a wet dry and David Brays makes one around 50.00

I was going to suggest the Suhr Iso Line Out Box as well, which is about $180. But with that you'd need another amp to reamp the signal and another cab for the wet signal. At that point, may as well just buy a used Fryette Power Station.

why not mod? metro zero loss loop is great and cheap. any good tech could follow the intructions.

you are making this too complicated IMO. the fryette would fix the issue for this and any future amp,but you balk at the price. moddfing the amp is cheap, but you dont want that either. hit the front end with your effects and call it a day.

I have the Bray, works great. The Unleash shaved off some high end and changes the tone slightly, prob because it's solid state reamping. The Fryette is your best option, or grab a bray line out and a chea power amp, like a mosvalve and stereo cab or 2 separate cabs.

Both the Bray and Suhr unit seem great. You could use a cheap combo amp and it'd be fine. The wet amp/cab don't need to be super boutique awesome-sauce amps. Just something that can reproduce what goes into it. Like a solid state power amp or something. The same thing can be obtained by adding a line out / slave out to your amp though. The way Soldano does it seems pretty straightforward. Just a pot, resistor, and jack. But I can understand if you don't wanna mod your amp. But you could just replace two of the speaker outs your amp has, if it has more than one.

But as I said, adding a line out and even getting a cheap power amp and cab will end up costing nearly as much as an Unleash/Power Station and is a lot more hassle.

LINE OUT:
1 pot
1 resistor
1 jack
6" of wire

Total cost: Maybe $8.00

Solid state combo amp of some sort: $200. Anything will do. An old Line6 Flextone 1x12 will work. A cheap PA powered speaker will work. Literally anything.

I'm pretty sure you can do it for less than the cost of an Unleash or Power Station. Getting one of those is definitely easier though.
