PA Democrat confesses to intent to murder. Shoots person point blank in the head.

PA has some shithole areas for sure.

You have the Pittsburgh on the west side and Philli on the east side and everything in the middle is refereed to as Pennsyltucky.

Which shithole do you live in there Geometric?

I never understood how they can, if they want to, sidestep the double jeopardy thing by trying someone first in state court and then if necessary, federal court. I can recall hearing about it happening, though I don't remember any specifics. Seemed fucked up to me at the time.
I suppose a grandchild or some family member of the victim could try for a civil case against him, but that would have seemed like a better move 60 years ago

I don't know anything about this guy's case. I was just speaking to the absurdity of the criminal justice system.

I know a guy who killed this dude. It wasn't premeditated, but he meant to kill him. It wasn't justifiable by any stretch of the imagination. He did 6 years, turned to Jesus and voila he was a free man. Crazy shit. The fucked up thing is this dude was a friend of mine and was one of the best fighters I ever saw. I watched him take out 3 big dudes at the same time in less than 15 seconds. There was no need for him to shoot the guy. All because he was macking on his girlfriend. He told him if he did it again he'd kill him. Dude did it again and Mark put a .25 behind his ear. Mark could have easily stomped the shit out of the guy. I really liked Mark, but he should have done a lot more time for that shit. Kinda makes you wonder when another guy I know did 12 years for getting busted with 10 pounds of weed.

People aren’t typically apprehended twice for the same crime.
Depends. If new evidence arises you can certainly be arrested for the same crime more than once, especially if you were arrested and released. (Plus you have federal and state, which are separate entities, each can arrest and have a trial for the same crime, but the circumstances are too long for this thread). They said it’s usually that you can’t be tried for the same crime twice. That’s typically double jeopardy. This guy was never arrested and tried. He was arrested and released.

I dunno man I’m too high for this.

I’m not condoning murder or anything, but let’s not use a potential retrial for 60 year old gang violence to pigeon hole an entire political party.

Pennsyltucky is due south of me.

Only reason to go there would be to buy a used vehicle.
Years back when we had the dealership, every Friday was the Waverly auto auction, lots of PA vehicles.
PA doesn’t use the salt like good ‘ol NYS!
