Nice deflection.
Deflect what? I'm pointing out that the Trump administration has understaffed ATC 30-35% from its own hiring target for more than a year now. Now we've had two deadly accidents. I'll wait for the NTSB report, but failing to acknowledge the systemic issue and attacking anyone who points it out is not productive.

You could be right, I don't know.

Do you think the government is bloated ? Are there too many government employees ?

Fallacy much? I presented evidence that ATCs are severely understaffed and working 60 hours work weeks. I presented that the Trump administration has been aware of this, missed their own targets by a wide margin, and failed to fix it for a substantial amount of time. It's very clear that ATCs are understaffed. Are you debating that ATCs are overstaffed and bloated? Making a general argument about a generic bloated government and then using that to justify some point about ATCs has zero bearing on this discussion. Just as much bearing as who is saying it. Debate the actual points if you want.

Hasty generalization followed by a red herring fallacy. I presented evidence that ATCs are severely understaffed and working 60 hours work weeks. I conceded you might be correct. Then simply asked a question.

I don't have enough knowledge about the government's internal workings to make a claim either way. Definitely feel like it is inefficient. And definitely feel like DHS is severely over funded in the last year. The fact the GOP blocked multiple bills to fund TSA because they want to disenfranchise voters is more of an issue than how much funding we have. I'd be fine if we went back to pre-9/11 and just got rid of airport security.

Funding ICE is disenfranchising voters? The only thing that has been holding up the bill is the democrats refusing to fund ICE.

ICE received 3x funding last year compared to prior years and has done nothing but cause controversy and a power trip (aka government overreach). So ya, I'm totally fine with someone calling them out. I don't give a crap about the politics of it. The organization is clearly failing at its mission. You just asked me about bloated spending. ICE last year was severely bloated spending.

There are lots of people in the USA that would like to see airport security go away. Most of them being Somalian, Afghan, Iranian or regular old lunatics.

I just saw video of the crash. You can hear atc asking truck 1 to stop 3 times. All the others stopped but truck 1 didn't and then the plane hit truck 1. Seems like fireman truck driver made the error not atc.
No mention made of injuries to the fire truck crew, and it looked like it was demolished?

Just saw on news that the firetruck didn't have a transponder on it that would trigger warnings. They also mentioned there were 2 atc employees and they only get 4 days off a month. No fingers being pointed but alot of different contributers to the crash being discussed.
Two pilots killed were young.
