the grain pattern and the speckles in the neck matched the colour and character of the rosewood fretboard - seems like a rosewood neck?

one thing that is important is figuring out whatever woods that guitar was made out of - i want something identical but with a few changes (24 frets, larger frets, floating trem, etc)

ill go grab the serial number off of it later i think and see how to get ahold of more information.

Just go the Anderson site. They have a serial number search function. Very cool. Have a 25.5 scale on order, myself.

If it's the same one I'm thinking of, it's a Cobra S. 24.75 scale with LP type wood.

I'm looking for one of those myself. Not that one, no worries. Seen it already. Want just two pickups
:D

Actually, there were quite a few stores on the East Coast that stocked Tom Andersons regularly (AL&M in Norfolk, and Indoor Storm, in Raleigh), so there are quite a few floating around out there. Here's mine. From '93, ordered by AL&M.

That is awesome man!!!!!!

My Hollow Classic has been been one of my main players since I got it in '97. Since my original seup I haven't needed to do a thing...every time I check intonation its still spot on. It's even moved with me from PA to CO and back to PA and never even needed so much as a neck adjustment. Tom simply makes a great guitar. Here's an action shot:

I bought and sold several Andersons. I never got used to the necks. They were just too skinny for me.
That amber quilt top I'm sure I could get used to though-wow!

I used to be an Anderson dealer. I used to love ordering the guitars, it was a blast to just put them together from my imagination. I had a Cobra for a while, really dug that guitar. It was Tiger's Eye Burst with a quilt top and totally killer.

Another long time Anderson owner here -- will never stray from Tom's offerings. Just recently placed an order for a Bulldog, waiting is the hardest part.

I love Anderson guitars. Saw Kirk Hammett's silver sparkle bowling ball thing on Live Shit: Binge and Purge, Seattle '89. Cool to see someone has one here on the boards :). I've played 2 Cobra's, awesome guitars.

didn't even know their rep bought my first one used on a whim

Damn! What a beauty! And that's a Kahler Steeler trem, right? I had a '92 Drop Top with the same trem. Great quality.

im going to go with Tom instead. i am not shitting anyone when i say that guitar made that $400 amplifier sound like gold, and not many guitars can do that

Yeah, the Kahler Steeler is awesome. I like them better than original Floyds.
