I didnt wear them for years, and pulled them out, only to find the soles falling off. Oh well. Looked cool.

Old shoes actually may be worth having resoled TBH.

I will check them out. I tend to go for the bigger manufacturers as I am in Australia. But will look at planet tone too.

If you're in Australia, you should talk to Fab at D'Urbano. Tell him what you like and the issue that you're having and he can wind you up something custom for cheaper than Duncan or DiMarzio. He makes great pickups.
