these look like the newer Egnater high gainers...Those were MIC, too, correct?

If these are as well, I wonder if it's the same manufacturing facility?

I'm not sure if they were made in the same facility as the Engnater stuff but I do know that there were a lot of changes made in how the Randalls are being manufactured. Mike went to great lengths to make sure that the QC is top notch.

Personally , I can't wait to try any of these. I just don't believe Mike Fortin would allow his name to be associated with anything less than a KILLER amp . . I have an old jcm800Bass head with his Cali mod , and it's as cool of an amp as I have.

Mike is so well respected; just knowing that he is 100% about quality I would have no worries about build quality. As always though, things can go wrong & some lemons get shipped. If that happens I still wouldn't be worried. Mike has likely helped improve this company from top to bottom, including customer service.

Eric
Eric,

Mike is a good friend of mine but that wont change my opinion....well maybe just a little hahahaha!

These amps are killer and you are absolutely correct, Mike would not allow his name to be associated with anything that he did not believe in.
These amps are Killer IMHO.

I also know that Mike would use any of these amp designs if he had to play a personal gig. Me and a few others got to hear everything that he has been up to and I have been personally blown away by everything that I've heard and seen so far.

No hype or BS, I think people are going to be very Happy with these and they will also be happy about the Price Point.
The amount of amp that you get for the Money is pretty amazing.

I can't wait to hear the NAMM clips when the start pouring out. I'm sure Jason and Ola are going to KILL IT at the Randall booth

all the best!

Hi Laura!

Hope all is well!!

Can you guys get Lynch to jam through the diavlo? He'll play and endorse anything!! But seriously, someone get some 80's slingers to play through those things so i don't just have to listen to dropped D chugga lug tight riffing. As awesome as Ola is, I never play that type of stuff anymore so would be great to see the versatility of the rig including some lower gain chops too.

I'm a Randall Dealer and also an 80's metal head hahaha! As soon as these are released, I'll be getting all of these amps sent to me and I'll most definitely make some 80's style clips for you because that's pretty much all I can do hahahaha!!!

With that said, Rumor has it that Mike is tweaking an amp for Mr Lynch ;) Whether it will be released or not, I don't know yet

I don't doubt a word of this!!! I fully love my Fortin amp and it's so different than all the other amps I have. I do have 1 suggestion and that is for a HUMAN AVERAGE-to-good guitarist to make clips with these amps. . Unfortunately both Jason and Ola are from another planet where guitars are attached to their bodies and they play so well that it's hard for your everyday barband guitarists like me to really tell what the AMP sounds like . . . You're not a slouch by any means either, (you're also an absolutely awesome guitarist btw) but at least with you I can hear more the styles that I play! Eric

I agree that Mikes amps are very unique. Mike has done more then a few mods for me and not only has everyone sounded different but all of them just felt right!

Thanks for the Kind words and I will most definitely be posting up some clips that will be in standard or Eb tuning :)
I'll also showcase the features.

I have lots of things in the works!!

All the best!

Mike Fortin...I couldn't be more happy for you. I know it has been a lot of hard work and hours dedicated to this project. I hope you reap the benefits here. Can't wait to try one out!

Is the Thrasher EL34 based?

What is the push/pull bias deal??? Can you use different power tubes??

The Thrasher comes with 6L6 out out tubes but is equipped with a dual bias circuit that allows you to use any octal power tube combination that you like. You can match pairs of 6L6, EL34, 6550, KT88 etc to find your personal tone, all without removing the chassis.

Awesome

Does this mean "self bias" or will you need to properly bias after a power tube change.

Also you say "pairs" does this mean I could potentially run a pair of 6v6 and a pair of el34?

^ I believe you would bias the amp yourself and be able to run intergraded sets like a mkiv. if it is fixed bias like a mesa that will be even better

Based on the pictures and specs posted I don't think it is self bias. There appears to be 2 bias/ points on the back of the amp with 2 adjustment screws where you can access , check and set the bias. Because there are 2 seperate bias points you can most definitely mix and match pairs of tubes like 2 6l6's and 2 el34's or any combo/ quad etc etc.

Better yet, why don't you let that Tone King guy do a demo. I can relate to his shitty playing and if it still sounds good then it's a winner for sure!
