I cannot watch anything where he is talking about something. I got into Megadeth in a big way right after Rust In Peace came out. He proved to me then, that he didn't need Metallica and actually did all of us a favor by being kicked out and going on his own. Who would have thought at that time what Metallica was about to become. Dave never would have fit into that. Kirk fit in perfectly. This comes from a huge Metallica fan.

He might have done better to just find a singer, but his voice does fit his music well :dunno:

And like @Floyd Eye said - the man has some screws loose for sure.

I was Megadeth 24/7 from 1985 on.... But can't listen to them anymore. After back surgery (through his neck) and throat cancer, his voice is toast. Peace Sells and SFSGSW and RIP are my favorites. All the new stuff sucks. Even that song posted above, just lost the Megadeth feel. It sounds all the same, processed and has absolutely ZERO rawness. SFSGSW is still my favorite LP from them, even though the reverb on the guitars is a bit much. It's definitely got that raw feel.

I still enjoy the interviews, even though I've heard it all. I really find it hard to believe that Mustaine actually believes Witchcraft and Hexes work. I don't know if he's just delusional and actually believes it, or is just a fantastic liar? I do believe he is a liar.

As I've come to be following him for years. I do believe he's a fucking parasite and all he cares about is $$$$$
I remember when he messes up his hand years ago, and they were liquidating all their equipment, he was selling used sweaty guitar strings.
I think the guy wants to do good and has become somewhat of a better person, and although I do like the guy, he really is an asshole. Can't dispute that.

After you hear the NLTL demos, you can't unhear Sean Harris on KEA and RTL

James started using more grit in his voice on Master, but the way he extends notes is 100% Sean Harris even to this day

Funny, as much as I love Metallica, Ive never searched out the NLTL ep/demo.
Honestly, I dont seem to stray far from the trilogy of Lightning, Master and AJFA.
Though I dig 72 Seasons.

Ill have to check out what youre saying!

If you are a bandleader then being an asshole is part of the job description unfortunately. Otherwise the many losers in the industry will take serious advantage of you. Look at some of the winners in his band at times. This even happens on the local level. I docked pay once before when a guy showed up drunk, stinking, and stinking up his axe too. Lemme tell you, nothing makes the rounds like shorting someone's pay. Shit travels faster than light. It boxed me out of a decent gig later on but it was a calculated move that I knew would have a nice ripple effect long term that would spare me going through a whole lot of shit players. Yeah, I can be a real asshole if I think you are taking food outta my kid's mouth.

Dave Mustaine probably seems like a crazy asshole to people who work in air conditioned offices, i'm sure :dunno:

He seems pretty normal as a bandleader, to me though

You have to be a "crazy", type a personality, or you will get absolutely buttfucked in the music industry even at a local level. So then imagine what it's like for someone on the level of Dave?
 
Dave would probably stop complaining about Metallica if they did the right thing and credited him for Leper Messiah so he could get a slice of those sweet Master of Puppets royalties. The album was just certified 8x platinum in the US alone so that's got to be a nice chunk of change.

It’s hard to fault a guy for not just shutting up about getting ripped off.

Between ripping off Dave’s shit and the Napster farce to supposedly protect their own shit it’s kinda hard for me to give a fuck about how James or Lars feel about anything. Kirk seems to mostly keep his mouth shut and I got nothing against him, but I do think he’s seriously overrated as a guitarist.
 
I loved Dave and "Deth when I was younger, until i met him. World-class asshole. Kinda ruined it for me.
 
Dave reminds me of the Clint Eastwood character Josie Wales, he lives for the feud, lol. He always has a chip on his shoulder and will never be happy, thats just who he is and what makes him great. Got to give him credit the way he came back after being kicked out of Metallica. Dude is seriously driven and definitely has the talent. I loved the older stuff up until youthanasia. After Marty left, I don't think they were ever able to capture that magic anymore. His voice now is pretty bad but that happens to most at his age. I also think he has a screw loose with some of the bullshit he talks about like the spells he put on people, lol. Metallica still sounds good but they also haven't put out anything worth a shit in a long time.

This shows such an utter lack of historical knowledge that I can't believe I read it. The Bible and mass of historical Christian society well into the early 20th century is full of incest, and men who married and bred with 13 and 14 year old girls who had no choice in the matter.

What's "historical christian society"? You are talking about dozens of cultures, kingdoms, and Christian denominations over the course of 2000 years or are you just bashing western protestantism?
