PRS Tekton - a PRS for modern high gain

My dream guitar is a 25.5 inch or longer semi -hollowbody that doesn't feedback and just has a nice snappy play
Good luck on your search. I already have my dream guitar.

I was actually looking at PRS' recently and thought about hitting GC to try a couple. But since I am a sucker for ES' and F-holes I came across this last night:

Seventy-Seven Exrubato CTM-A, the full Japan edition.

$3K is pricey, but not ridiculous.

Anymore, you’re typically into the $2k range for any run of the mill US made instrument. For a PRS with a unique feature set like this, especially with the 7 string models; I can’t think of a comparable guitar made stateside that’s costing much less.

Those ultra-tight grained flamed tops are kinda ugly to me tbh

I like the solid green one

I think all the solid colors are good looking; the flamed tops? ehhhh not so much

Honestly I'm sure it's a great guitar, there's just no way I would ever pay that much for a bolt-on superstrat

Once we are getting into the 3k zone, you are well into the "can buy a neck thru or set neck soloist or hamer" money

If it's a bolt-on I can literally just build a partscaster and make it whatever I want, including a body that isn't a lame superstrat shape and a color that isn't fucking hideous 🤷‍♂️

Yeah, or a sweet 50's/60's neck LP.

I mean obviously, but i'm saying if you're in the market for this, you're in the market for a superstrat - There is no universe where I would spend 3k on a superstrat in the first place

But the level of superstrats that you are competing with at this price range is full of a lot of set neck/neck thru guitars that are of super high quality; if you're gonna do a bolt on, you can build a partscaster (if you're handy) or use one of the many great partscaster building companies (chub, luxx, d'avanzo, etc) that all post around here for like half as much cash

I don't really get the same super strat vibes from it so I guess I don't make that connection. Would a super strat guy be lured in by this? I guess I don't know. Ain't even got a trem. It's not a strat body, its PRS with some hardware hank stuff holding the neck on. A trimmed down silver sky would be a super strat. Regardless, like you said, 3-4k opens up a world of options for sweet guitars that make this seem pretty meh.

That's literally the market they said they are trying to tap into in the PR dude :ROFLMAO:

And it makes sense, it's a stainless steel fret, small neck, ergonomic strat shape with a fancy trem system
