JackBootedThug

MURDERATOR
Installed a Roxy and a Seymour 59 bridge in my v. Along with 2 CTs pots and switchcraft jack and 3 way toggle. Plus a gigantic orange capacitor. I’m getting no sound but both pups are reading.88 output on my meter. Switch works and I guess apparently my jack works. Any suggestions? Help! 😂

I ordered the telecaster upgrade kit from the art of tone… great bunch btw… anyway they substituted a different toggle. I installed the capacitor per their tele instructions which seemed weird but damn it’s huge…. I can’t wrap my head around this unless my power wires are backwards….

This is basically what I did.

I’m sure I have something backwards. Per their instructions I have the capacitor grounded to the volume and another leg going to the tone. I hate this shit. One time easy, next time nothing works… 🤪

Message Scott. Some of his earlier pickups wiring colors were different. I'll look in my SS when I get home.

I’m getting.88 output…cut the volume and tone and get zero output. Has to be something simple.

Did you wire the jack backwards?
Tip=hot

Volume knob works. Tone knob works. Toggle works. Getting correct resistance from each pup inside. Stick a cable in the jack and I’m getting.88 from each pup and no output. Switched jack wires and same thing.

Even though new, may be a bad switch if both pickups. Try wiring a pickup directly to the output jack and work back from there?

Edit..you’re getting there DC resistance at the output jack? I don’t know the Roxy but 17 sounds way too high for a 59.
