Reb Beach rips on Hammett

It's not surprising to me that he didn't know. Even though he is in Hair Metal bands, Reb's listening tastes lean towards fusion. He admits in the clip that it's in bad taste to badmouth a fellow musician, but oh well. As bad as Kirk's playing is, the guitar solo to "One" basically paid for most of my gear over the years, so I have to thank him for that.

Hetfield was the reason , as far as guitar goes why they were so successful . It has nothing to do with Hammet ... I think any lead guitarist could of been in that band and they still would of risen to the top of the metal heap .
I think Hetfield was the reason as far as anything goes, period.

Nevertheless, Hammet is doing what most of his critics are not. :)

some day, when I have some time to wast, I want to import master of puppets into protools, delete all solos and replace them w/ marty friedman's solos from rust in piece....then I could actually listen to metallica again...I get tired of fast forwarding through the solos

I'm not a big reb fan, but that was funny
I don't care hwta your credentials are, in my opinion, everyone including cc deville has the right to bag on hammett

Lets be honest guys none of them can compare to....

The almighty Satchel  :D

Exactly. Again, Hammett did NOT play rhythm on any Metallica release until Load from all accounts.

I thought the bit with Bob Rock ripping on him in the making of the Black album DVD was priceless - here's a guy who (in those days) only had to show up and wank a solo, and was having trouble with that?? When Hamster starts complaining about his sound, Rock's comment is classic, to paraphrase: "Yeah, that's what the guitarist usually says when he shows up UNPREPARED - (whines) 'Oh, my sound isn't happening....'" Nailed him!

You may be right about recording duties, but Hammett did write several of tallica's great riffs.

Meh, I think RB blows Kirks doors off in ALL aspects of lead playing, and for sure in the vibrato dept. But I think Kirk is a good rhythm player, and I seriously doubt he would stoop to talking down about anyone else in the guitar world. He's a pretty humble guy. I bet if you asked him, he'd say he's the luckiest guy in the world for landing that gig ;) Having said that, It was hard to watch winger live because of all of KW's cheerleader and ballet moves :D Him and Stephan Pearcy (RATT) should do "dancing with the stars" together ;)

Didn't he say something about not doing his homework?

KH's playing might be ruff but you cant deny that he has written some very memorable solos. sloppy as they may be at times, you cant say Rebs solos have the same catchy-ish-ness-ism.

  Yeah not to mention Reb was in WINGER ffs. We're talking about a member of Winger ripping on somebody  Just no credibility there, the more I think of it the funnier it is. What's next, is Boy George's keyboard player going to come out and rip Stevie Wonder? :dunno:

Who cares what band he was in, he's a far better guitar player. Hamster never wrote any Metallica stuff except for his solos and maybe a riff here or there.

EDIT: Hamster wrote Invisible Kid. Instant fail.

Invisible kid
Never see what he did
Got stuck where he hid
Fallen through the grid

Invisible kid
Got a place of his own
Where he'll never be known
Inward he's grown

Invisible kid
Locked away in his brain
From the shame and the pain
World down the drain

Invisible kid
Suspicious of your touch
Don't want no crutch
But it's all too much

I hide inside
I hurt inside
I hide inside, but I'll show you

I'm OK, just go away
Into the distance let me fade
I'm OK, just go away
I'm OK, but please don't stray too far

Open up your heart
I'm beating right here
Open your mind
I'm being right here, right now
Open your heart
I'm beating right here
Open your mind
I'm being right here, right now

Ooh, what a good boy you are
Out of the way and you're kept to yourself
Ooh, can't you see that he's not here
He doesn't want the attention you give
Ooh, unplugging from it all
Invisible kid floats alone in his room
Ooh, what a quiet boy you are
He looks so calm floating 'round and 'round in himself

:poke: :lame: :emofag: :grim: :bash: :aww:

There's a lot of ripping on winger, but I saw them on their first tour in Columbus Ohio. At times, it was damn near progressive rock with Reb and Rod Morgenstein on drums. I don't know if I can fault them for trying to cop the glam image, God knows Metallica went through their stages in the mid '90's. Although, somehow it seems like we'll eventually hear that this wasn't Reb Beach making the comments, but it was some guitar tech who used to do work for him....

I agree with MRP, Kirk has contributed very little towards the advancement of that band. Heck, when you release an entire album without guitar solo's, that's pretty much a sign that his talent wasn't progressing.

That dudes Butthurt bad. Not defending KH at all. While I dont think he suks I do feel hes overrated. Never notice the Kip winger thing. I had to watch the vid again to notice the 1 sec clip of it.

IMO KH is gay but Reb Beach is really really GAY. Rebs solos are all lame. the same tap every time.

And Kirks band is a gazilion time better than Rebs IMO - so quit your cryin reb :D

The drummer from Winger played in the Dixie Dregs with Steve Morse... Kip Winger graduated Berklee school of music (as did Reb, who did studio work before joining winger)... I don't think metallica is a 'gazillion times better'. Just my opinion though.

Pete

Well, Reb completely sold his dignity away to be in the most pseudo-hetero, extremely cheesy, most made fun band of all time so I just don't see where he has the room to talk. That's all I'm sayin :D . Now THAT'S what I call an "instant fail".
