hey
freddie mercury had a fast vibrato
you can have a fast vibrato and still have finesse

hammett has beginner vibrato

That solo is just ridiculous. Steve rules!

Look up "really fucking lucky" in the dictionary and you'll find photos of Kirk Hammet and Jared from Subway. Its no wonder Mustaine is as pissed off as he is all the time.

Who would win in a fight - Beach Vs Hammett?

Tuff one. They both seem like pussies to me.

Kirk would try to talk it out and if that didn't work would go to his arsenal of used wah pedals and start throwing them at Reb. Reb would use his defensive "tapping technique" to block all the flying wahs. The result would be a standoff of the highest mediocrity.

then the non-stop upper thigh scissor holds begin!
then they insist its not a "69 position" but a new type of skull crushing manuver.

Metallica has had more success than Winger. Hamster has written a few cool riffs but there are loads of guys that can outplay him..... but they haven't been relevant in 20 years. I can't stand most of his wah fueled leads and yes he has a shitty vibrato and outta tune bends, but who cares? Hamster rakes in millions and we rip him cuz we are broke ass wannabe musicians.

Who cares about Rob Beach?

Carlos Cavazo, Jon Sykes, Adrian Vandenburg, Lynch, DiMartini, RR, EVH etc, all played in the 80's hair stuff. And they would rip either one of them apart. Rob should just STFU because he is butthurt that nobody likes Winger. He should just be happy that when he was in Winger he got more pussy than Metallica ever will and leave it at that.

My friends rip on me cuz I would rather listen to Quiet Riot than metallisuck. It seems like all of the 80's hair bands have gotten a bad rap cuz of cheesy vids, but some monster-all-time-great guitarists came outta that era. Those guys will always sound better to me than the current rock/metal guitar players like the hamster.

Also, $100 says that Rob Beach is playing lead on the next MegaDeath record ;)

With Steve Morse being the perfectionist that he is, you have to think that his vibrato sounds like that on purpose, for whatever reason.

Wow, that's pure denial. His Vibrato sounds bad because he wants it to sound bad? now I've heard it all

MARK1970":2rq9bsw9 said:
There is no doubt the boy can play, but for last few years his wah is just as annoying as Zakk Wylde's pinging.

I think it's funny barely anyone rips on Zakk, at least not to this extent. I guess it's because his vibrato is so good that no one notices he pinches off harmonics like it's a cutting edge technique and plays in one of the crappiest bands around (BLS). Not to mention his voice, that's another subject all in itself :(

With an ear like he has there's no other reason for it. He has total command of his playing and if he wanted his vibrato to sound different I'm sure he would.

Maybe you can post a clip of yourself playing Tumeni notes to show us what HIS vibrato is supposed to sound like.

I would post a vid but my vibrato is bad too, well not because it's not good, just because I want it to sound bad :D
You dont want to see this.........
Nate shredded at my place a couple weeks back.
He starts off with some stretches....then he removes his shirt and pants.
That sonovabitch would SCHOOL EVH!!!
I have never seen a guy rip up and down the fretboard. :worship:
the nakedness gets scary......but once you close your eyes and listen to him shred........
You would swear.....and I kid you not......
it was DEVIN TOWNSEND in the same room!!
Motorpud........can you sign your 1st album for me????
I know just what you mean Dan, but I heard he was having his Jackson refinished by a car painter *GASP*
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!
Say it isnt so!!! :bash:
He will never get into the Rock -n- Roll hall of fame!!
What will the Women and Children Think????

I like Carlos and for the most part think he plays within his means, but don't understand how he could be on that list.

Carlos is one of my Favorites from the 80's as well.
I liked him in Quiet Riot as a BAND. Never really looked too much as a player.
But made some cool songs though.

I'm sure you cruised around listening to "Don't Wanna Let You Go" full blast.
Actually I wore that one out.
"Stomp your hands and Clap your feet" is my new favorite.
I drive around in my Fiero at full blast.
I can get that sucker to pop wheelies ya know.
