Recommend a Rack Tuner - Please

Several modern preamps have a separate line out for tuners and stuff like that. One patch cable from that to your rack tuner and be done with it. That's not in your signal path. That schematic above makes me dizzy :)

Get a Korg DTR-1 they come up for sale often and for around a 100 bucks or less.

I advise against the DTR1000 or 2000 because the DTR-1 is built tought like a brick shithouse and I think the display is easier to read. The newer 1000 and 2000 series is built out of plastic and flimsy crap not all metal like the DTR-1

Don't just take my word for it look at other pro level touring musicians' racks and you will see the DTR-1 in there to this day.

The thing does work great! It's also easily visible from across the stage

Seriously cool, dude. Not just from the musical functionality standpoint... the "geek" in me appreciates the amount of engineering involved in designing, building and cabling that was needed to bring it all together.

P.S. I'm thinking about the Ground Control Pro and GCX for MIDI control and switching. It seems to be a solid choice for the money. The Liquid Foot stuff looks killer, but is more than I want to invest for this particular rig. What would you suggest? Any similarly priced alternatives? Also, any recommendations for a rack mount EQ if I decide to go that route?

Thanks in advance...

There is no comparison between the Korg and the Peterson, believe me. Korg was my first rack-tuner and my guitars never were in tune even when I had set up that guitar with that tuner. I said goodbye to that one real quickly.

Never had that problems with the Peterson (save for using too old strings)

I really like my CAE RS-10. Mine is double expanded, but the stand alone RS-10 is built like a tank. The RS-10 isn't as feature filled, as some other units, but it does what I need. in the $300-$400 range, I don't really know what else is appropriate to suggest.

Determining the amount of direct access controls I needed was step one, in figuring how to proceed, with both the foot controller and the switcher.

As far as switchers go-- The RJM RG-16 seems to be the go to piece of gear, if going the Custom switcher route is too over the top for your needs.

Thank you, sir...

I would like to try out the Peterson VR Strobe tuner one day, but haven't as of yet. I have used the strobostomp and strobostomp2 pedals though, and they are great pedals.

Maybe... Pictures? Price? Let me do some research :)

Does it need a shelf, or does it have provisions for rack mounting? I'm not familiar with that model...

This picture is not of mine.

It needs a shelf, which I would include. I would also include the original power supply.

It retailed for like $350, and works splendidly. They are REALLY rare.

I would have to go home to check the condition. I can get pics of it if you are actually interested. I would prob do like $125 shipped/paypalled.

For that amount, I think I'll look for a used Korg tuner (or possibly buy new, if I catch a sale). I appreciate the offer, though.

Thanks

Once again, just get the Korg tuner and move on.
Greetings...
I've decided on a Korg. Peterson's are apparently great tuners (no first-hand knowledge...), but out of my budget for this particular build. I searched and found one recently listed for sale on the forum - PM'd and waiting on a response.

If anyone has a Korg for sale, hit me up. I'm kind of picky about my gear, so I'm looking for something in new to nearly new condition...

Thanks!
