Wade said I should try the Detroiter.

I was just going add a +1 for the detroiter; Wade's recommendations are usually always right on. The detroiter has got some extra magic in the mids, and its nice and tight in the low-end. Not *exactly* a P.A.F per se but it overdrives an amp more than it's 12KOhm winding might infer, as doe the 2nd deg. blackbelt.

He said it's 9.2K roughly.

PAF territory is good enough for me.
"a bright guitar and wicked bright amp"

"I want to keep the P.A.F feel and vibe but get a little more output and something that's darker and fatter too but with the usual ripping mids."

Wade is spot on here, like he's always been when he's recommended me a pickup. Honestly, I can't imagine a situation begging more for the Detroiter than what you just described   . It has one of the best top ends out there imo. It cuts through, but is never shrill. It's got just enough fatness to it, but it's still nice and open. The mids aren't over-the-top aggressive to the point of killing versatility, but they are definitely pissed-off sounding when your rig is dialed in that way. One of my favorites.

Well, I e-mailed Wade about it.

Just gotta wait to hear about wait time.

Holydiver for sure. They're great in a bright guitar.

I liked the mid character of that pup but it was lacking lows imo.. Have gone through several different pups in one of my les pauls lately through a '77jmp. My other 'paul has a jb in it and i love it but this one is bright and has less ass.
After a jb, holy diver, sh-6, MCP detroiter, dimarzio 36th annniversary, i ended up with a tone zone and love it! It has alot of subharmonic content, and a tighter low end and more low mids than the jb.

I recommend the BG Bucker Dark. It does everything you described in OP. Matter of fact, I have a Rebel Yell, Detroiter, and Godwood in my parts drawer collecting dust. Along with a bunch of other pups.

The funny thing is that I bought a rebel yell over month ago and it's stayed in my Les Paul since. Truth be told, I hated it at first and I believe that was due to two things.

One was that I was a Godwood at 9K for 2+ years the other was that the Rebel Yell (for me) is a measured 14.2k and completely uncompressed. You cannot hide anything and it's really stepped up my playing.

I still have my Godwood and I plan on putting it in a pickup ring so I can swap the two out once in a while.

I also ditched my Scumback BM75's and bought a combo of broken in G12H30/V30 and everything is perfect. I literally can run the presence on 8 without anything being harsh.

The BG Dark sounds cool as does the BK Holy Diver. I want to try those two.

Why only "boutique" pickups you tone snob?

Because I'm worth it.
Because I'm worth it??   you win on only the 3rd post!

Believe me, I was being sarcastic

no you weren't!!! mcp black iron!!! pretty dark but still cool!

Oh I was lol.

I actually want a Super D next.

vhII and rebel yell are quite bright
only had the neck version of the 2nd degree black belt , so I'm not sure about the bridge brightness level
the neck version was similar to the neck vhII, but I believe the vhII was fatter in the low mids

perhaps the bk black dog or the dimarzio 36th anniversary might work for you
the dog being more midrange based and the 36th being fatter, bassier and more open on the mids
I love the extra articulation of the black dog and its fluid, smooth and in-your-face lead tone, but the dimarzio sounds huge

Godwood is closer to a 2nd Degree BB, Detroiter is brighter. If you want warmer than a Godwood I would not look at these two.

Use 250k pots.
Godwood sounds incredible with them.

This is definitely worth doing. Wouldn't cost much and still keep the Godwood!

Oh I still have the Godwood. I'm keeping that thing forever.

I just fianlly gotten around to putting in a used 2nd Degree Black Belt in the bridge of my Heritage 150CM and holy shit!!! What a great low output pickuip. Destroys the Fralins. I had it sitting around for a month or so and after talking to Wade about the Detroiters, he asked if I ever tried the 2nd Degree and I said no, but I picked up a used one. He highly recommended it. Well he was right!!! I am still waiting for the Detroiter bridge/T-rex neck combo though!!
