I have been extra happy with my rig. Recto rack madness. Recording Pre and 2:100. Until... tonight, I put my ear down by the speakers to hear what a mic would "hear" and I felt like the sound was a bit "ice picky" kinda harsh... kinda shrill. I love the way it sounds a few feet away...
Any suggestions to dial away the ice pick or mic placement tips not to pick up those frequencies..?
Maybe if I use the EQ in my G Major... that would help?
What do you say Rig-Talk?
Get some Beam Blockers and you may want to try running direct to the board with a Palmer PDI09. I used this combo with my Recto Pre/2:100/Recto 4x12's. I loved the tone I was getting.
If you want to experiment a bit, try cutting 2 strips of duct tap about 5 inches long and put them in front on each speaker on the grill this will give a little idea of what the Beam Blockers do. The BB's do it much better than duct tape but it will give you an example of the effect.
