Broke out some old Soundgarden this past weekend. Man....its been about 10 years and I am in love again.
"Fell on black days".....musta listened to it 50 times this weekend.
Chris has such a great voice.

Superunknown was the first album I ever bought with my own money back in '94. Love me some Soundgarden!

Funny how something you were burned out on can sound SO FRESH after not touching it for a long time.
Really digging it again! :D

I think a lot of that early 90s grunge stuff would be fresh for me since I didn't embrace it at the time. I may have to go search down that Temple of the Dog project...

Not as old....But Audio Slave....man great stuff.
I think my man crush on Chris Cornell is back. :inlove:

That first Audioslave album was pretty cool. Lots of really catchy songs on it. "Superunknown" was a real masterpiece though. Nothing Chris has done since was as brilliant as that album. The melodies and riffs on it are timeless, just like AIC's "dirt" from '92... another classic from the so-called grunge era. The 90's was the last great decade for rock music.

The 90's had some cools bands:

AIC
STP
Soundgarden
Helmet
Tool
Temple Of The Dog
Black Crowes
Gov't Mule
Pearl Jam
Weezer
Rage Against The Machine
Mad Season
Nirvana
Jane's Addiction
Foo Fighters

I had a Cornell crush for about 5 straight years back then.

If you dont know Temple, I highly recommend it.

To me, thats Cornells voice at its peak.

He's not screaming like on Bad Motorfinger, but he's got the best tone on that one. Check out the vocal breakdown in Reach Down for example.

My wife and I danced on our day to All Night Thing... never mind the hooker lyrics and what not...

Thanks for the turn on for new music man. That is new to me.
I was stuck in a small world with blinders on musically back then.
Lot of good stuff I am discovering that has passed me by.

Just watched the "video" on youtube.

That breakdown I referenced is at 8:40, but I think it only makes sense if you listen from 0:01.

Be well, friend.

Pulled out some old Overkill last week

I broke out some Overkill a few weeks back. Them, and Metal Church. Some epic songs.

I listen to slayer "south of heaven" for the first time in 21yrs last week in my truck ... forgot how bad ass they were. Lombardo is just insanely awesome

+1 I burned out on Queen and Sabbath when I was an over the road truck driver. I wore out several copies of Night at the Opera. Now I hear that stuff and it sounds so good.

Used to play 'Rusty Cage' years ago. Badmotorfinger is a classic, and my favorite Cornell. Temple is a close 2nd...
