Holy shit dude, I've been really liking what I've been hearing of Peters amps lately. Even in a blind comparison I chose the Peters, I'll have to look into one.

Yeah. Mine has Kt88s. I'll second the bit about Peters. I have major GAS for a Chimera

Amp4= Herb Chn3
Amp5= Nitro
Amp6= Einy

All sound good but noticed that one amp that everyone loved on the boosted test, the nitro, doesn't sound as good with out the boost and came in towards the last position to alot of peeps.

MarkIV was my fav lead too

My picks were

4= Herb Chn3

1= MarkIV
3= Herb Chn2
2= Budda
9= Peters
5= Nitro

10= Slo
8= Mako

I would love to try these amps in person, I've only played the Krank and the 5150

Thanks again Mrevol for taking the time to do this it was really cool :rock:

Which ones did you like Mo? :dunno: I picked the Gryphon second this time and first last time. I've never gotten a chance to try one by I hope I will sooner or later, seems like I like the way they sound :lol: :LOL:

These were my picks:
9 - Gryphon
8 - Mako
5 - Nitro
11 - 5150
10 - SLO
6 - Einstein
4 - Herbert Ch. 3
2 - Budda
1 - Mark IV
3 - Herbert Ch. 2
7 - Krank

I'm happy; my top 3 preference hasn't changed from the last test! Was that Ch. 2 of the Einstein?

I guess I'll need to look into Peters at some point!

haha I still have gas for a Hydra!

Played my Hydra tonight and that amp simply rips. I have been through a lot of amps and the Peters is top shelf for sure. Chimera is next on my list. It will happen.............it will happen soon. :rock: I highly recommend. :thumbsup:

A little late to the party, but ya gotta understand, I'm so confused by all these amps, I haven't really given the ACTUAL revealed amps a second look. So this is what I did - I put all the clips into a folder, then listened with my studio eargoggles (not monitors, this could be the difference for some, but I'm partial to headphones). I played the 1st 1/2 of the clips (the chords and chugga chugga) for every song a couple times each...wrote my notes. Then I repeated the same for the solo parts. I did this because I found some amps shined with the 1st part but not the 2nd part, and vice versa. So FWIW, if anyone cares, here it is - and seriously, this is straight up without giving the answers a true solid look:

#1. 1st Part: potent and thick,
2nd Part: solo was flat to me, lacked life
#2. 1st Part: muddy, fizzy,
2nd Part: percussive, decent
#3. 1st Part: compressed but rich,
2nd Part: kinda punctuated, clear, defined
#4. 1st Part: middy and fuzzy and even fizzy,
2nd Part: had punch!
#5. 1st Part: mid high, grindy,
2nd Part: noisy and grinding (not in the good grind way)
#6. 1st Part: undefined, soupy,
2nd Part: compressed, not lively
#7. 1st Part: chunky, smooth,
2nd Part: okay??
#8. 1st Part: balanced, tight, percussive,
2nd Part: I just marked two checkmarks, so good I guess
#9. 1st Part: firm, tight and a bit middy,
2nd Part: one checkmark - pretty good
#10. 1st Part: middy,
2nd Part: two checkmarks, so pretty damn good I'm guessing
#11. 1st Part: fizzy and raunched, some noise,
2nd Part: almost the same.

Now I get to match these up!!! WHOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Thanks Mrevol :yes:

Done with amps written beside... I'm surprised with the SLO solo, they were impressive. Mark IV solo sucked, chugga was decent. Budda has a great solo punch. Herbert was what Herbert is - compressed but punchy and toneful. Nitro sucked to my ears. I'm surprised with the Einstein, undefined....hmmmmm. Krank was chunky. The Makoplex was all around awesome - I'm pleased with this. Peters was so so. 5150 was gross.

There it is... Peace,
V.
