I definitely love them when I somehow have something vintage I need to sell
I also definitely hate them when I want a piece of gear that they've ruined the market on, like old Hamer's or BCRs

He's doing a bluesy thing these days, on weekends. He's retired but for years played in an 80s hard rock band, they went to LA in 87 to shop their demo but nada. He has probably 6-8 vintage Superleads that he used to just crank to 10 and hit the TS for leads. Old school. He might have more boost pedals but back in the late 70s/early 80s the TS was most popular. I told him 15 yrs ago that his vintage gear is his retirement fund lol.That’s wild . Does he ever use another overdrive or what ?

Completely disagree. It’s no more than 90 seconds.After 5 minutes in front of a blaring amp there is zero difference between a vintage one and a new one.
