Rig porn thread [PICS]

i used to do live sound for some decent size concerts, but do bands put 4x12 cabs into road cases for the big concerts usually, or do they just get thrown in the tractor trailer as is? Like if there's like 16 of them just for looks on the stage..

Touring bands, Yes... unless of course they're using a rented backline, then the sound company, yes.

yeah, a new one starts every week.. What i'm referring to is a thread that just had pictures of peoples rigs all in one thread that people can add to. Car forums have this, so I figured maybe itd be a good idea here, but maybe not by the sounds of it?

I would enjoy looking through a thread that had all pictures of people's rigs instead of looking thru individual threads everytime I wanted to look for ideas, setups, etc.

At what point does this forum change its name from Rig-Talk to Zach-Talk?

Z has enough to make 30 of us happy at the same time. I never get tired of seeing your stuff, and the fact the you are more than willing to help all of us along the way.

Thanks, but MOST of that stuff is NOT mine-- the top pic is all mine though. Just like the rest of the guys here (and Laura-- who has a KILLER collection, and GREAT taste) who are fascinated w/ gear-- I read EVERYTHING I could find and collected a bunch of pics of rigs that I thought were "over-the-top" Cool.

As far as sharing, it's reciprocal. It's because of the guys here at this place that I learned about Mark Cameron, Ralph (gainfreak turned me onto Hellatone H-30's, and GMW guitars), Kage (responsible for me having the GMW Floyd Paul), and the countless hours of guitar gear experimentation mentoneman and I have done, Jerry Dyer for modding my Metro amp, Brad for letting me have the Cameron Atomica Proto-Type, etc...

This place is just the BEST!!!

Also, who's rig is that with the 2 Diamond Spitfire heads? Looks like LA Sound Design work.

I like to think of myself as a "Zach of all trades" lol, so to speak. I play in bands, do session work, tech for other musicians, and build and program rigs for others, as well as managing a retail guitar shop here in Hawaii.

I believe that rig you're referring to was indeed Dave's/Martin's (LA Sound Design) work.

I have a hand staging the gear, but I usually (when I can) set it up myself

I do have to say the only rack gear in exclusion to this would be a regulator, conditoner, the old lexicon PCM42's and a shure wireless/ or a G90.
