I have not been able to get my rig dialed in the way I'd really like to lately. I was getting frustrated and have some recording to do soon so I been hunting for "that" tone. So last night during the 2nd set after being irritated with it earlier in the night I shut off the OD and just ran the pulteq EQ uncle Waynzo aka @griff10672 sold me since I figured I didn't have anything to lose. I had tried boosting with EQ at home prior but it didn't seem right. In front of the band with a cranked Twin....it was magic. Just enough gain, the perfect amount of clarity and lord have mercy it was loud. I can still hear it this morning, lol. I think with a small amount of tweaking that will be the recorded tone,,,,

Quite fortuitously a kind member here saw some posts about how much I enjoy that EQ and offered to send me another one so I got a backup coming . And I have a purple fez in the mail for lower volume nights I might need some extra gain. I guess we'll see where it all goes but it's kind of a weight offa my shoulders and a blanket offa my speakers, lol. God is good. ☦️

only real men rock cranked Fender Twins ......
I been talking on PM's with @rsm about some tone ideas for the next record and it all came together last night. I still gotta play with a few things, and do a little more experimenting with mic'ing but man, that Pulteq pedal really is a scalpel. To his credit rsm may have talked me into one of your wah wahs when the time is right too, LOL.

I'm pumped right now....

wah. good.

now, lets move on to univibe.

I'm sure Wayne has something for this gap.
If I was making 50k a year, between pedals, tolex work, and custom reverb tanks Uncle Waynzo would somehow end up with about half of it.

That’s AWESOME VBV.

It’s amazing when you’re in pickle, and then go for a “Hail Mary”, and it works out.

So happy for you you brother..

tolex shmolex that's cosmetic, it can wait.

remove the tolex, and get a can of matte black spray paint. :D

I thought you use a Twin Reverb?

Apparently you haven't seen that white python tolex work he's done in the past....

well, that will make the amps look very nice but sound the same.

Then you'll need some white python boots to match, which cost more than many pedals.

If you have a Twin Reverb, you already have reverb. :poke:

well, nothing you need to dwell on.

you can always opt for a dwell mod to add one.
Yeah, I thought about that and I'm sure my tech could do it. Not sure how quiet the tank would be while mounted in a cranked amp, that could be problematic. Plus if I die the amp has had control panel knobs modded into something else, or added, which makes problems when my old lady sells it to cover the price of the hole in the ground I'm hoping to be buried in. You already can't get jack for a stock twin...

put it on the rear panel?

My ssecond Super Twin was modified, and not mentioned in the listing, to switch off two pairs of output tubes on the back. If I ever get around to having it serviced, I'm going have it put back to stock, all power tubes, all the time; and have the switches removed.

Thought about that, could probably throw the pot in the spot the ext speaker jack is now but truthfully if the 'verb section has issues it's easier to take a separate box to a tech than the whole amp. And if the modded Twin version sucks I'm stuck with that mess. I got plenty of time to think about it. I'm waiting on @7704A to give me some feedback on the spring tank pedal kit he's going to be assembling. That tone bakery tank for $400 you linked was tempting as hell tho....
