Amp ho
Man I honestly can’t get enough of this amp. Feels like the plexi made for me. Finally. I’ve never played one that I felt like worked for the way I play and gave up what I wanted to hear. As fun as it is to dime the master volume and do the traditional NMV thing, I actually prefer the tone of the clipping options and having those tones at completely reasonable levels seals the deal.

When I’m in clipping one the volume is at 9 o’clock which is not crazy loud. Clipping 2 needs the master at like 230 which is still not crazy loud.

Thing is a total keeper (til next month when I change my mind)

Also, someone commented that it sounds like a Friedman so I’ll prob sell this and just buy one of those

Can someone explain a bit about these amps for me? I've just started reading about the "modified" amps from Marshall. Initially, I was assuming it was good old-fashioned aftermarket modding, but now I see they come from that factory that way.

EDIT: Yes, I do ask because it sounds pretty nice but also just curious as to what all they've done.

Sounds killer Blake, great demo. I sure af wouldn’t sell that for a Friedman. I doubt any Friedman would have that level of kerrang and brash aggression in the highs. Sounds like a keeper for a Marshall guy like yourself.
If not, I call dibs. 😂

It’s a stock 1959HW with a few small mods - master volume, switchable bright cap, and optional clipping (off, clipping 1, clipping 2).

When these were announced I think we were all a bit let down. It’s not a high gain fire breather. I was bummed. What I’ve realized since is that this amp is about getting stock-ish plexi tones at useable volumes. And for that, it’s simply amazing to my ear. If you’re into Marshalls you’ll love it. If you’re not, you won’t.

Not sure Friedman sound the same ... There is authenticity here , pure Marshall on the 3 mod .

That’s weird, I thought the same thing. It sounds like the BEDLX you sold me

Pull out a compressor and eq ave you can do the Friedman sound with that amp . Especially recording .

Sir, with respect, if you are playing rock n roll but aren't hitting 125dB you haven't yet achieved "reasonable" levels.

Sounds awesome, but I like my stock Plexis more. One of them is really clean, so I just use an OCD or SD-1 out front once in a while. Another has a little too much gain, so I put a 12AT7 in V1. Friedmans sound amazing too when watching YT videos or playing at home, but they always sound too dark when I use them with a band.
