RUSH to Return for 2026 North American Tour

Peart’s widow Carrie Nuttall-Peart and daughter Olivia Peart issued own statement, saying:

“We are thrilled to support the ‘Fifty Something’ tour, celebrating a band whose music has resonated and inspired fans for generations, and to honor Neil’s extraordinary legacy as both a drummer and lyricist. Neil’s musicianship was singular. Compositions of intricacy and power that expanded what rhythm itself could express. As both drummer and lyricist, he was irreplaceable. Inimitable in his artistry, and unmatched in the depth and imagination he brought to the lyrics that inspired and moved so many, he profoundly shaped how fans connected with him and the band, giving voice and meaning to their own lives. As the band enters this new chapter, it promises to be truly unforgettable. We are excited to see how their new vision unfolds, and to hear this legendary music played live once again.”
Of course they approve. Money has a way of getting approval. Whats their cut of the pie?

I just don’t get how these reunion/tribute tours are so exciting to people, especially with such pivotal members gone.

and Lee having no voice.. it sure as hell won't be any better than it was when it was already going.

The German gal has the essence. Jeff Beck heard it. She makes it okay for Al and Ged to feel good and return.

This is a miracle. We can be grateful for it and maybe expect similar miracles in our own lives.

Don’t hate on this.

Upon reflection, whom I am to question the motivations of Alex Libelson and Geddy Lie?

the psychoanalysis of the bands feelings and motives by people who never met them before is interesting to me as well, its like people just make up whatever feel good story they want and go with it. "i know Dime and Vinny hated Phil and said repeatedly never a reunion, but im sure they will love this!!" or "Eddie would be so thrilled watching Satriani play his riffs all stiff" and get excited.

It's why I never hate on bands continuing on.

Why shouldn't they? They're musicians, playing music is what they do and when your Kiss, Rush, Motley, whoever etc... and you've created this machine that people wanna see run, why shouldn't you take it for a spin.

So what that members may have fallen by the wayside, been removed, passed etc... that doesn't change the fact that the machine can still be driven. And the kicker, if it makes "them" happy and the fans happy isn't that the very essence of music itself.

As @memberzonly said, if you don't like it don't go. I love Kiss, hated what they did with Tommy and Eric but I supported them 100% in carrying on because they earned that right, and it made shit ton of people happy.

At the end of the day, I'm a musician and I would love nothing more to have been in their shoes still rocking people's face off in my 60's and 70's doing the thing I loved most.

Same as people who make up negative stories 🤷‍♂️.

You can't make everyone happy....so why not just try to make yourself happy and not worry about what others think.

I think Portnoy can do far more than metal so respectfully have to disagree with you on this.

Hey, just my personal opinion but not like the couldn't get the job done.. or maybe I just hate the sound of his snare?? lol. Always have. Fuck that snare.

For sure, but they're gonna need someone to sing too. I'm surprised Geddy is willing to subject himself and the audience to this struggle fest again. He has to know, I mean, c'mon.
Difference between guys like me and you...vs Geddy...it's still easy work for him
