RUSH to Return for 2026 North American Tour

Not stoked at all.. why do these guys have to ruin a good thing? Peart was as much that band as anyone else and it is fitting they ended it with him on board. As crazy as it sounds, these guys are Canadian icons and we treat them like a national treasure. Their legacy is what it is because of the 3 of them , not 2 of them and an add on. There are a million drummers that could do this gig but it is not their place to hold it. That belonged to Neil. Also, Geddy's voice is done. What's the point.

2 beaver tails down for me on this one.
What are they ruining? Alex and Geddy are musicians. It's what they do and why should they ignore a phenomenal catalog of music meant to be enjoyed by the fans and it's meant to be enjoyed by Alex and Geddy. It's why I have no issue with Queen, Kiss, Thin Lizzy or whoever carrying on without some of the original members.

As I said above there's nothing sacred about them, they're all just a rock bands that made great music and it deserves to be heard and played live in my opinion.

This is no slight to Neal, everyone knows his role in the band and what it meant to Rush and his family is on board. If anything it keeps Peart's memory alive more than ever.

I do not think this is diss to Peart family at all and sure they will make some money from it. Nothing wrong with that. So...??? Neil would rather they ceased playing his music and his family made no cash?? I doubt it very highly.. This honors and pays tribute to the Professor and keeps his music out there in the live realm for generations new and old to enjoy.

What!? Musicians, artists being easily swayed by their feelings on having a strong stance about one thing and then reversing it over other strong feelings! What? Impossible!
Who gives a shit. They wrote the music. Who is anyone to gatekeep and say what they can do with their music. They’re fucking legends and seem to be good people. Haven’t they grieved long enough? Let them go out and play and not just rejuvenate themselves but give joy to people who would like to hear it.

I think it's great. They took 10 years away and Alex and Geddy have always been best friends and jam together. They've had time to process it and we all know they'll honor Neil and do the right thing. They always have. It's only seven US cities and all are pretty long hauls for me, so I'll probably enjoy the memories and by the DVD (or watch it streamed) but I'd go in a heartbeat if I could make it.

They have such an incredible catalog, if they're feeling it, they should go out and enjoy it.

I think it's awesome, but I would be happier if they didn't call it Rush. Because it isn't. Still, I bet the shows are great and I'm sure those guys are thrilled to be playing their songs for people again. I'd love to see Geddy pull out the 4001 and do some shit off Caress of Steel, but I'm sure that isn't in the cards.

The question is, will they play deep cuts? They haven't played Beneath, Between & Behind live in like 10 score years ago.

I see both sides people seem to be taking on this .... either argument has it's merits I suppose ...

the way I look at it is ... they mentioned honoring Neil every show ... this woman clearly has the talent and skill to serve the purpose beyond expectation ..
so if anything ...... as corny and cliche as it will sound .... this Tour can bring Rush's music to some kids / people that wouldn't have heard it otherwise

say a 13 year old kid goes with his Dad to the show .... sees this woman just absolutely tearing it up .... and then finds out she's actually sitting in for a Legend that is no longer with us .. you don't think that kid is going to go home and Youtube every Neil Pert video he can find .... ???

that said ... I've never seen them ..... and hate going to shows these days .... but I think I will stand in line for this one . My 24 year old is so into late 80's early 90's Thrash ..... I think taking him to this might be super cool experience for both of us

I don’t feel like looking up the articles but I could have sworn these two vehemently stated they’d NEVER even try to find a replacement for NP, let alone calling it RU$H. They said if they worked together again it’d be called Lifeson/Lee or whatever.
If they did that, i think it probably wouldn't be as personal to many. That would feel more like a celebration of his legacy. "LIFESON/LEE an evening of RUSH" or something like that. Anyway, his voice is still going to be the issue.
