He didn't recommend Trident but it's not for the reason they wanted us all to believe.
The 5th answered that he couldn't suggest any gum to a patient.
So when Trident said 4 out of 5 dentists recommended their sugarless gum they wanted
us to think there was some idiot Luddite 5th dentist who had a hard-on for Bazooka.

Bazooka ruled the gum world for us kids (I was born May 1960) A freaking penny actually meant
something back then.
A nickel or dime would score the really good shit but for a penny you'd get not only a large chunk
of gum that included 900% of your daily recommended amount of sugar, but also a Bazooka Joe comic!
Parents didn't care about a kid's weight, their teeth, the fact they were bouncing around the playground
like a speed freak right after a pure mainline hit.
Looking back on it, going through a dozen pieces of Bazooka in an afternoon was a better and more
consistent buzz than any of the blow we all did 20 years later.
Then suddenly THE MAN!!!!! was saying it was bad and we should be buying this fucked up Saturday
morning monster movie mutant of a SUGARLESS!?!?!?!?! gum.
Half the parents thought it was great while the other half said NO WAY!!!!!
Us kids were stuck in the middle. Really sucked for us.
And here you guys are crying over a little needle.
THIS was something worth getting riled up over.
