They're a great live band. I didn't get into them much until I saw them open for Iron Maiden about 8 years ago. They have some good material, but also alot of fluff.

Sounds like Fredrik from Opeth plays the lead on this one too. He was all over their last album.
 
Yeah...Yeah I know. They've 100% turned into a pop band. But I still think the songwriting is generally pretty strong. Knew you guys would HATE this thread. They can't all be Slayer threads...
 
I honestly didn't know shit about them. Only their stage appearance so my assumption was that they were a metal band. Then I heard a song and I was like, this bro-rock. No. Thank. You.
 
When they first came out, they were said to be a blend of ABBA meets Sabbath. Since then, Sabbath has left the building.
That said, we did play Dance Macabre at a corporate event last year. Was kind of a fun song to play live.

I’m a fan of their first 3 or so albums. Not so much for their recent stuff save a couple of songs. The new song is alright.I saw them live on the Meliora tour. They put on a good show.
