sde-3000 set up?

Any sde3000 users out there and how do you set yours up? Do I need to get a line mixer to use with it? I just recently got into rack delays and made a small 4 space rack (conditioner, sde3000,fryette power station). On the PS it has options to run through the effects loop or line in/out. Also the sde has -20 or +4. Just want to get everything set up optimal.
On a side note just ordered a pcm41 as well to try.

No mixer needed per Dave Friedman, it has all analog dry path. Just set delay time where you want it and go, maybe add some modulation too.
