Short iPhone clip of my JCA20 Jose mod

I was playing my JCA20 today and decided to make a short iPhone clip. I’m using a Boss SE-50 in the metro effect loop through one cabinet. Not using any wet dry wet. I’m not playing anything in particular, just trying to play stuff to hear it’s tone. What the video can’t capture is how easy it is to play.

Thanks. I did the mods with a little help.

I have about $450 into it. The metro loop is like 15% of the amp value.

What do each of the two switches do (obviously engage the clippers, but how are the switches different)?

Dave will confirme but iirc he wrote mpsa06 with 2,2n bright cap one way, and 5v zeners with 4,7n bright cap the other way....

This is correct... @V2a

Notice there is a difference in volumes between the clipping settings.


Also, I lowered the voltages in the power section a bit. I need to put it on a switch, but for now it’s lowered quite a bit to give it a more chunky, bouncy feel without falling apart. I do not remember the voltages

Yes. If memory serves me I put a 10k 2 watt resistor at R51 and removed the jumper. It wasnt a big change. I need to put it on a switch so I can go back and fourth between high and low voltages. I was just a little paranoid throwing that voltage on a little switch. It should be okay though.
