I was flirting with LP Specials, when I found a CS Tele.
Wasn't looking for it when I played it, couldn't put it down once I had. Had to take it home.
I want to buy whoever wound the pups in that guitar a steak dinner and all the beer.
I often consider slapping a p90 in the neck of my SG.
Epiphone G-400 I bought in Missoula, MT in 2007. Stewmac Golden Age pickups and nickel keystone tuners installed.
Gibson ‘61 SG reissue bought brand new in 2024. Installed black keystone tuners.
1974 Gibson SG I got as part of an estate sale in 2024. The previous owner installed Sperzel locking tuners and Tony Iommi pickups. I swapped out the pickups for a set of unmarked vintage pickups that were also from the sale. They sound fantastic.
This guitar has been through some shit. The headstock appears to have been broken several times. The neck joint has suffered severe trauma. It may have been busted clean off from the body, I can’t really tell.
Whatever happened to it, things got seriously misaligned. The previous owner just added some new slots to the saddles and rolled with it. It looks like they may have used the tried and true method of placing a string over the saddle and bashing it with a hammer. I’m rolling with it too, plays just fine despite how jank it looks.
