Maybe he just can't sing anymore? He already sounded like shit with Velvet Revolver when you watch old live clips..

Wow that's really kinda heartbreaking to watch.

I saw him about 1.5 years ago and thought he was great. Voice was spot on and he had lots of energy. It was a great show. That video is very very sad.

One of the guys in the band should of gone over there and slapped him because I think he was sleep walking.

On a lighter note, anyone know what that little Marshall head on the right is?

Medical Heroin ... how does that work ?

He will end up like Kurt & Layne more than likely.

Recovery is not for those who need it but those who want it.

All it takes is willingness. Its available to anyone.

$60K per month in child support and alimony? No wonder he's fucking wasted.

You can't help but feel a bit sorry for this guy. He seems pretty cool, but he looks quite "lost" inside. The rape incident is shocking, to say the least! Very sad.

I have seen alot of guys stoned....lot of them drunk.
I have no idea what he is tripping on.

I don't think he is drunk or messed up on recreational drugs.

Between the drug addiction, and his other issues (mental), it certainly appears that his psychiatrist and counselors have him on psychotropic medications. He is completely devoid of emotion in that video. Hopefully he can get off of those meds soon, before he starts getting tremors like Ozzy did.

Not a huge fan of his, but I hate to see people experiencing this type of shit.

Did not mean to get "too deep" on this topic, but his whole affect and demeanor are like text book examples of psychotropic drug treatment.

I saw a facebook post about this but never watched the video. In the post/article it says that he claimed this was due to his in ear's going out. bullshit, he was trippin balls on something

Id say he's in advanced stages of addiction rather than prescription meds.

Basically a walking dead man.

How could anyone involved with any part of that production allow him to go on? He just needs to quit wasting everyone's time and off himself. Harsh but true

No way he should off him self, but pretty stunning that "the show must go on." You can't help him if he won't let you, and maybe he'd be even worse if you took performing away from him, but damn that would be a hard gig.

Wow.

That was so uncomfortable, I couldn't get past the first 30 seconds; seen that stare too many times in the past.

Hope he can find some peace.

Being born in 82, STP hit the scene right when I was developing my musical tastes. Scott's been a big influence on me as a singer/writer, it's such a shame. I've seen videos of him wasted where he can still sing and pull off a great set. The night before I saw STP in 09' or 10, they went on an hour and a half late and he was pretty tore up, slurring....but nothing close to this.

I was actually thinking antipsychotic meds as well. I've done my fair share of substances, heroin doesn't do that to ya....I don't know what the fuck does that to you aside from anti-psych meds. My mom was on a ton for years and she'd slip in and out of states like this, where it's like autopilot and every thought/motion is being controlled by a little person millions of miles away.

This guy needs new management. Anyone who actually gave a shit about him wouldn't let him get up there like that. Seems like you could have pointed him in any direction and he'd go in it, he needs to be pointed in one where he can get well. The amount of pressure around him for his finances has got to be staggering. I barely cleared $30K last year, I couldn't imagine $60K a MONTH. He's gotta clear at least $720K a year to cover that....and the dude is playing clubs that I've played at with my bands.

Reading his book and listening to his interviews, I can see how he's easily a self-destructive person with the life he's had. He's had a lot of death around him, sexual abuse, all the stuff that adds up to a poor mental state....and Richard Patrick from Filter was 100% correct in that he's got a legion of enablers in the fans who think he does no wrong. I'm sure with this newest performance there'll be a few more people who want to see him get better but there's just as many who will still blow smoke up his ass.

The Stern interview is outstanding for anyone who cares to listen. Howard doesn't get enough credit for his interviewing talents and this is one of the interviews that really shows those skills. At some points he's practically coming down on Scott for fucking up so much.

THIS ^

Agree 100% At first I thought heroin but was suspicious as well. Pcyhotropic meds seem like a better reason.

He is going down fast, sad.

One more thing.. His reps gave some BS about a few drinks before the show.... Pathetic they are. Anything to keep their pockets full, couldn't care less about him or they'd step in and stop it all together. Just my 2 cents.

Richard Patrick? Haven't heard that name in a long time. An ex of mine was dating Richard when I met her.

I totally agree with you on Howard's interviewing skills. This might have been the first time anyone has actually talked to Scott in such a genuine manner. Hopefully, Howard told Scott to call him, should he ever need to talk. The best thing for Scott Weiland, would be to quit the music industry completely. Steve Winwood was as bad, if not worse than Scott is now... His wife convinced him to quit the industry, which most likely saved his life.

"Do yourself a favor
Wake up to your mind;
Life is what you make it
You see but still you're blind.

Get yourself together; give before you take
You'll find out the hard way
That soon you're going to break.

Smiling phases (faces) going places
Even when they bust you
Keep on smiling thru and thru
You'll be amazed at the gaze on their faces
As they sentence you."
- Al Kooper

Wow that is a great interview, Howard Stern really is a pro.
