Slash featuring Ozzy...ouch!

The thing that kills me is that Ozzy's voice is wavering so much that the pitch correction won't track him properly...

The song really doesn't do anything for me. I haven't been digging Ozzy in recent years and even Slash makes me scratch my head at times. The song's not god aweful but I'd say it's one of the weaker ones on the album. The Myles stuff kills though, the M.Shadows one was awesome and even the Fergie track was pretty fucken good.

On another note, I really wish Axl would get his head out of his ass and get the old GNR lineup back together again. Then we can all enjoy some killer tunes.

I love the album...it is one of my favorites. I even went to see Slash live for it. I hate this track though...because of Ozzy not Slash. Ozzy just sucks on it. As soon as he comes in I hit FF.

I for one, agree with the OP. I think the solo sounds like it was done by someone that's been up for 30+ hours that only did one take because his state of mind was like, "fuck it, ....let me just throw some shit down....it's not like it matters anyway, sense the song came out like shit." Yep, it's horrible.

The Slash record IMO was one of the best of 2010 and this track sounds good to me.

Ditto. Not a fan of (ugly) Fergie but she does rock on Slash's album. And the whole album does rock too. I'm ok with Ozzy, he's a funny dude and I had a blast every time I went to see him in concert.

i like the track ,hate the mix and the solo fills, the tone ..theres just to much going on with the tone...i think a more sudle tone would of fit more...but i like the song

You could teach a 14 year old to play Slash's best music- most overrated player ever! His best move is keeping that hat and hair in front of his face.
However, the solo work on this tune was ok...just like the rest of his work: safe notes, same scales, decent feeling

the album was def one of the best of 2010. Crucify the Dead isnt the best song on the album but there are some great hits on that album. If you havent, go listen to the rest of the record and youll see!

Welp, the song I posted above must be the exception. That solo is terrible. Sounds like a 12 year old played it. Maybe that is good enough for Slash, but I was shocked Ozzy allowed his name to be on it Who knows, maybe I expect more from Slash

There are also I think 5 bonus tracks. I have all 5 tracks. I am not sure how they were released or where they came from, but they are not on the disc. There is another one with Fergie, and a few killer ones that I love that are completely out of character for Slash. I also really like the track he did with Adam Levine of Maroon 5. The ones that I wasn't expecting to like are some of my favorites. I just think these are damn good songs....not damn good Slash songs...just really good SONGS. For instance...

The rest of the disc is straight up Slash rocking.

yeah the solo is weak but i dont think the song is really that bad. In all honesty slash is the most overrated guitar player out there but the reason i never bash on him is because he never goes out and claims to be the badass everyone thinks he is, its just that masses and the media have set him up so high on their own. He knows he's not the fastest, cleanest, or most technical player out there and never claims to be more than the simple blues influenced rock player that he is. Sure he gets a lot of money for being considered a way better player than he truly is but its what pays his bills so you cant blame it for it.

The best stuff Slash has done has been Snakepit. This Ozzy track isn't even close.
