Slayer never claimed to be Satanists, Nazi's, or serial killers. From day one they said that their lyrics were the equivalent of short horror stories exploring dark topics that were meant to be shocking. If you're whining about their lyrical content, you're just affirming that they succeeded in their goal. Slayer we're absolutely unfuckingtouchable for their first six albums, and to this day they are still a force of nature live. And more importantly, they NEVER fucking sold out like a certain other thrash band from that era. To deny their influence, innovation, and legendary status is plain ignorant. If Slayer are too heavy and evil for you, go stand in the back and cry with the rest of the women and posers.... :gay:
Slayer didn’t sell out ??? In A Gada a Da Vida ??? Or the Nu Metal album ???
In A Gada a Da Vida was for the Less than Zero soundtrack, not sure if that is selling out.... and their version rocked  The Nu Metal album was weird I'll give you that, but I still remember before they released South of Heaven they were warning fans that they were experimenting a lot with the new album and some may not like the new direction... and sure enough when South of Heaven came out there were those calling them sellouts for slowing down and singing

Right on ! It's refreshing to know that some people around here are old enough to understand what music is about !!

I guess Kerry is going to record some more solos for Sum41 now?

It's about time. The ferocious attack was over years ago, they sounded like a slayer cover band for too long. This is all good for Exodus...if they could ever find a singer :scared:

Nice clickbait just to talk shit about the band. They are doing a farewell tour and then they will stop touring. whatever dude.
Lo, let us not heap scorn upon those whom cannot hear'eth ye Glory of Slayer. Instead, let us heap upon them our pity.

Verily, ye poor souls whom cannot hear'eth Slayer's brilliance, art living only a fraction of life. As if, whence they see'th ye world they cannot see'th all it's colours. Or, whence they orgasm 'tis with but a single nut, not both.

This post now concludeth!

Say what you will about them, all i know is that when i saw them in 91 on Clash of the Titans it was life altering! They brought it! They fucked the Veterans Memorial Coliseum up!!! I have not witnessed such a beautiful display of aggression release since!!

Really? Their version of IGDV was filthy, gritty, heavy, and anything but commercial. Diabolus may have been down tuned and more groove oriented, but was by no means whatsoever Nu Metal. You're reaching...

Really ? The very fact they did a cover of such a shit song is bad enough, that it was for a mainstream movie is a total sell out. And you have the nerve to accuse Metallica, but no one on here would turn down that gig or the money that comes with it (not even Slayer if they would admit it).

Another swing and a miss. First off, the fact that you think that's a shit song is completely irrelevant as to whether or not they sold out. Secondly, the fact that they did a song for a mainstream movie, and did such a dirty, heavy, punky, uncompromising Slayerized version of a fucking hippie song like that, is the epitome of NOT selling out. To say that Slayer ever came close to even considering selling out is absolutely moronic.

Sorry dude but Less than Zero was far from mainstream for a movie... it was pretty dark and pretty much crap, the only thing going for it was the soundtrack which was big news back then cause it was the first time Danzig was going to put out something since Samhain.... Best songs on there was from Slayer and the Bangles

I don’t think they set out to make a movie that wasn’t mainstream, who would do that ?

I actually really dig that movie. I like the somber tone and a lot of the backing music. It is an interesting movie in that you had a super hot cast for the 80s but subject matter that was quite dark and not teen friendly. Not really sure what they were going for in making it but I do like it. I believe it's from a book from the same author as American Psycho.
