The XTC was my least favorite. The SLO sounded slightly more articulate than the Marsha to my ears but I would be happy with either the SLO or the Marsha.

Would you mind sharing your settings on the SLO and the Marsha? I've got a friend with both amps and I'd like to try your settings in person.
Yes I think the SLO is the most articulate. Marsha settings were all 12:00 master 0.5 BE gain 4:00. Slo settings OD 5, bass 3, mid 7.5, treb 2, depth 12:00, mast vol 0.5.

To those who commented, I was trying to make the Slo sound dark, listening back it needs less depth more presence and trebble. I also had the mic a little further off the cone than the others.

I liked the XTC best, then Marsha, but so much of this depends on settings.

Your SLO sounds like there's something wrong with it to me.

I just re recorded the SLO all settings at 12:00, master 0.5. Sounds better now. :D

I'm going with the re-recorded SLO.

They all sound great.

My speakers do suck though.

The Marsha works a lot better for an evh vibe but this clip just made me realize how bad I am gassin for an xtc

XTC < SLO < Marsha

You used B1 on the XTC, right? Try B2 with the gain at about 3:00, blue channel.

BTW, what kind of speakers / mic?

Well done; that Marsha sounds killer!

there is no B1 or B2, only B/M/D on the 100B

Wow, what a difference a few knob tweaks make!!! I still like the Marsha best, but SLO is pretty damn close after hearing the new recording. I'd be happy with either one!

I liked the SLO followed by Marsha, Jan, Cindy, and then XTC and Bobby are tied.

I liked the SLO clip the best.
Seemed "clearer" then the other amps.

Much better :D

SLO
XTC
Marsha

I think a lot of this is a volume issue; none of those amps are going to sound as intended at .5 on the master.

Cool experiment for sure, and I get that they were ALL at those volume levels, but I personally couldn't sand the SLO or XTC at super low volume (when I've owned them) or most other tube amps for that matter. Never had Marsha, so can't comment there, but I'll go out on a limb and say it's probably the same deal. :D
