So what settings you guys use with this amp? I've never spent time with one and am curious to have some 'starting points'......any ideas/help?

I'd start somewhere around here:
Gain: 5.5
Bass: 6
Mid: 4
Treble: 3
Presence: 1
Master: as high as you can tolerate

This will be dark and fairly saturated. You can make it brighter from here. I think I typically used:
Gain: 5.5
Bass: 4
Mid: 6
Treble: 5
Presence: 5

This is with Greenback type speakers.

You will most likely run the treble and presence lower then what you expect or use on other amps so don't be afraid to turn the knobs.

Here's my settings:

Crunch Gain - 6
Lead Gain - 5.5
Bass - 5
Middle - 6
Treble - 6
Presence - 6.5
MV - usually ends up around three or four with the band. Any higher than that and we're rockin.

For me : Gain 6, Bass 7, Mids 6, treble 2.5, Presence 2.5 (Vintage 30 cab)

Being a new member of this club I hope this thread ends up with a nice handful of suggestions! My early settings seem in line with Mr. Willy's but I'm really curious to sample the others.

Just turn those knobs, man. One of the reasons I love the SLO is the plug-and-play factor. It doesn't have a bunch of little switches that changed the tone to get hung up on.

Yeah, it's great that the tone controls are very predictable once you're use to them. Not very interactive IME, so it's real easy to just go twisting knobs to get where you want. The amp can be very bright or very dark or anywhere in between.

Back off the treble and the presence a lot and it's actually not super bright anymore, but doesn't get dark. Don't be afraid to set the knobs low. Use your ears.

Thanks guys, I will definately try these settings out. I appreciate the input as always.

Crunch Gain 10
Overdrive Gain 6
Bass 3
Mids 4
Treble 5
Presence 5
Master 4-5
Depth 2
Eminence Legends

Just upped a quick/simple vid, need the input, is this too bright? I think I'm liking the growl here but I never seem to just my own ears with new gear lol.

I really wanna try my SLO with some Legend V12's. Have you compared those Eminence speakers to V30's with your SLO?

No, only GT-75's and Greenbacks.

At low Volume really like the 75's, but havent had a chance to hear them cranked.
GB's sounded nice, but i had to pull 2 tubes for the 2x12 cab they were in.

The Legends are supposed to be similar to the v-30's that Mike used to use as the stock speakers.

Just 12 oclock with the gain at about 2 oclock and the presence at 3 oclock

I think it really depends on the speakers you are running the SLO through. I am running mine through a 4x12 Bogner cab with V30s and GH12H30 70th annys in an x pattern.

Here are my go to settings at home.

Gain/Overdrive = 3 at the most (More clarity/note defintion/punch with less gain and more volume)
Bass = 4
Middle = 5
Treble = 3
Presence = 6
Depth = 3
Volume = 4, or louder when the situation permits.

The above is with the Bogner cab with a wheat grill cloth. I tried the SLO with a Bogner cab, same speakers, but with a salt and pepper grill cloth. Amazing how much I had to change the eq to compensate for the change in grill cloth. Everything makes a difference.
