I know this question was directed at mhenson42, but a Rectifier and Thrasher sound nothing alike. The midrange, response, negative feedback, and gain staging are worlds apart.

Which one for the tones I am looking for? What type of sound/tone is the thrasher and how would you describe the triple. Just trying to get a sense of how you are viewing the two. Thanks

FWIW, I didn't like the Natas proto when I played it. I love my Thrasher. Killer amp at a great price.

How does the Thrasher compare to your Mesa Triple?

im currently trying to decide on a Mesa Triple, Roadster or Satan/Thrasher. I play mostly Metallica, 5 Finger Death Punch, etc. I like a dark deep growly wall of sound. i dont like the thin type distortion sound.

Thanks

The Thrasher is a great amp. I sold mine a few months ago. Still have my Triple Reborn, which, when cranked loud, is my favorite amp. IMO, nothing compares for my personal tastes. Agree with lolzgreg's answer. The Thrasher is alot tighter and is plenty thick, but the Recto is alot bigger sounding. The recto may be too loose if you don't boost it. I like really tight amps and the Thrasher is definitely one of the tightest amps I've played. Ultimately, my tastes gravitated to the UL and Recto, so I sold the Thrasher.

I think either amp would suit your needs.

What is the voicing of the Thrasher compared to lets say the ENGL Fireball. i want something more organic sounding and not processed sterile sounding if that makes any sense?

For 80's thrash/heavy metal (Metallica, 5FDP, Megadeth, etc) which would suit me better thrasher or triple?

Would you say the Thrasher is more for modern/deathcore stuff? Can the Thrasher sound big or is it more of a bright EVH 5150 style? Thanks

The thrasher is a lot more organic than an Engl. I'd say the Thrasher would be better for what you are looking for. The high and low frequency gain knobs really shape the tone well. They can give it a lot of thump or grind depending on what you are looking for.
