What's your favorite 3-channel amp ever?

What's your all-time favorite 3-channel amp that sounds amazing regardless of whether it's on clean, crunch, or high gain?

I expect that Marks and Rectos would be pretty high up there but I'm curious to know what everyone thinks

Definitely my Mark VII. I bought it for the IIC+ tones but use channel 2 in VII mode and it gets ridiculous great Marshally 80's tones. I use a GEQ and EQ built in to my GT-1000 to tweak it and run both built in boosts and external boosts to get incredibly different rock and thrash tone from this channel. Cleans are amazing as well, I use fat clean.

Larry PMM for 3 channels definitely .
We all know if high gain and crunch is good . But the cleans are just beautiful too
I would love to try a Larry. But there's no way I would deal with his wait times. I also have never tried a Wizard.

I've had a few...

Bogner Atma
Victory MKX

I've also owned or still own many 2 channel amps with 3-4 gain options that might qualify

Soldano Astro 20
Marshall JVM210c
Marshall DSL40CR
Peavey 6505MH
EVH 5150 III
Mesa Rectoverb 25
Peavey Triple X

I am sure there are more that I have forgotten.

I would say the Soldano Astro 20 would be tied with the Victory MKX, but the MKX is still in the honeymoon phase.

Honestly believe if the Ceriatone FAS (slo clone) had the crunch channel separated from the clean with concentric pots and a footswitch it would be absolutely in the list of one of the best 3 channel amps.

Is there any sort of consensus on what the best 3 channel Recto is? Dual vs triple, MW vs earlier version?

And aside from getting a Hermansson, Ground Zero, etc modded Recto, are there any 3 channel amps where the high gain channel is sort of like a boosted Recto? Maybe KSR?

I think the MW triple is my favorite 3 channel recto. In my experience there isn’t really an amp that brings “boosted recto” except the real thing.

If you’re looking for the classic boosted recto sound - just get a recto. All the modded stuff is different. Most of them get rid of the recto dna.

People seem stoked on the reissue, I haven’t played one. I’ll all about the older 2 channels but seems like getting a new 2 channel dual reissue totally does justice.

These are all different and it's hard to pick one over the others since they're all great.

Bogner Ecstasy
Diezel Herbert
VHT Ultralead

Diezel VH4 would be on this list, but it's 4 channels. While I appreciate the Mark IV's middle channel, I've never found it that useful. Everything else I've tried is either 2 channels or one of the channels is a compromise.

For true 3 channel heads? I would probably say:

Diezel Herbert
Bogner 101B
EVH 5150III Stealth

Funny this thead pops right now, I was wondering the same recently.

And also, do people consider 2.5 channel amps as 3 channels amps (3 eq sections)

Isnt the XTC 101B a 2.5 channel amp?

For full 3 channels amps, the herbert has to be one of the best overall.
The fryette Sig X is quite awesome as well.

For 2.5 channel amps, there are so many, hard to pick.
The XTC is so versatile, Fryette UL,
