Thats just awesome Bob, that post made my day...HILARIOUS   I'll get back to you on payment.

I love these cabs. They sound different, for sure.

That "weird" sound some complain about; I think thats the overt midrange response they have (super in your face midrange), and lack of the typical cabinet coloration (don't have that woody, vintage knock of Marshall cabs), so you hear more speaker, less cab warmth.

I don't agree that they don't sound good with Marshally amps. Killer with my Wizard.

Mine has the thick Cane Bisquit grill. I do think the thicker grill increases the speaker damping factor, keeping the bottom end in check. I have tried two others, one with the thick salt'n'pepper grill (also a very tight cab) and my friend's one with the thinner black basket weave grill. This last one did appear to be a bit looser and boomier than the other two (loaded with a variety of speakers). I have also compared Bogner cabs with different grill cloth and found the same effect : Thicker grille firms up the bass a bit, increases the mids, and rounds the highs (basically less scooped).

I did read about the grill cloth phenomenon in Guitar World mag years ago in an interview with either Alan Rogan or Rick St. Pierre, in which they were sorting out Marshall cabs for AC/DC. When I heard the differences in grill cloth years later, I thought, "those guys were right" !

Funny how now that the company seems to be going down..... people speak what they really feel. When they were the shit truth took a back seat. These gear forums are strange strange places at time.
I have said the same things about them since the day I tried them. Don't care if they are still in biz or not, makes no difference in my opinion.

LoL It is kinda funny how most people are saying why they weren't that good now.. But ya know what, I didnt like the one I had either... I couldnt believe it when I brought it home. There was someone who described it perfect...There is almost no cab coloration which some might like but I didnt.. I felt like the cab lacked warmth and was to midrange heavy. It did project very, very well I will def give it that. I used it with my band and it dominated the mix but the tone was not that good IMO. It was strange to be honest, to me it was almost like hearing what a v30 would sound like outside of a cab lol....if that makes any sense.

I've never seen of even heard of those Mills cabinets until I started posting here a couple years ago, where they got nothing but praise, but now I've seen nothing but complaints about this fellas sketchiness...

Hearing this about another in the booteek biz is a bummer; unfortunately not a surprise. Looks like people where cameroned or what I call it, farndurked (sounds better), e.g., that builder farndurked you or looks like you got farndurked...

These stories make me very glad I dig my production amps, most available at big box music stores: Vox, Engl, Fender, Mesa, Marshall, TC Electronic, ...Bose

IMO, if I can't find something in standard production amps/gear that I can use, I'm doing something wrong, or I got the wrong amp, still my issue, not the gear's. YMMV

Things are not always nice and rosy with the big guys either. Sure, they aren't going out of business, but getting warranty service from some of these companies can be a nightmare.

Love my Mills cabs. I've had them next to plenty of other cabs and always prefer the Mills. I do wish they were smaller though. I have scumback H55/H75 loaded in them. I preferred them alot more than v30s.

Bob.....I really like the one hamster boat you built me. Might have to check out the 4 hamster model.
My Hamster "Hammy" is having a Blast zipping up and down the Bath tub in it.
Just want to show this to others. Thanks again my Friend.

Just looked at your Savage Wood website, very nice stuff you are offering. I like the Made in USA statement.

I will lump another log on the fire of ideas that I am sure you get on a regular basis,

Outdoorsmen items.

Us outdoor sports guys are always on the look-out for nice ways of decorating our sports themed mancaves and items such as rod racks, gun racks, fishing lure display cases, bases for mounts, etc.

Anyways just another idea to diverse your offerings.

Thanks Scott. There's still a lot of site work to complete, but it's getting there.

Hmmmm... I like those ideas and there are a number of wildlife 3D reliefs available, although 3D work costs significantly more than vcarving due to the machine time involved.

Anything in particular that you might be looking for?

Yes I do have thought of something that I was going to ask you about months ago but for some reason thought it better to wait.

Something that brings together my love of saltwater fishing and other things. I will email you through your site and lets see if we can come up with something. Teak would be the wood of course to start the quote with.

Hunters and fishermen are the same as guitar players, there are some insane boutique stuff that using an Ikea presswood display will not cut it. Now that I am thinking some nice teak steps on my boat's gunnels would be very hip. They are tough to find that fit one's specific boat.

Agreed. So far, I've had good luck with warranty repairs (not on what I have now, hopefully it will not be needed)...except it often takes a very long time.

My pleasure. How's Hammy doing by the way? I heard about his snow skiing accident through the grapevine.

Hello Bob,

Thanks for your Concern. Hammy sends his greetings as well. Yes....the Skiing accident.
He is such a trooper. Had his left leg shattered in 3 places and had to be fit with a custom cast. Also a neck brace.
Poor little guy.....such a Trooper....*sniff* I need to stop...starting to choke up.
But I did send a pic of him. I know he would want you to see it.

Thanks again and have a great weekend,

Dan
