So, what is your favorite Marshall Amp

Gonna have to go with a DSL, either 50 or 100, but prefer the 100.

It has kinda become my ultimate "plug 'n play" amp as I never have any difficulty dialing in a killer tone no matter what guitar I am using or what (if any) pedals I have hooked up. It gives me just enough classic Marshall tone, and just enough modern tone for me to play the types of music I love

It also sounds decent at a volume level approved by wife & kids

I totally agree with the comments about cranking the JCMs, plexi's, etc. to get that Marshall tone happenin'. But I get a satisfactory (at least to my ears) crunch at bedroom volumes with the boost/OD.

Fuck, I just love the tone of a boosted bone stock single channel Marshall. I've had a bunch of high gain amps and always found they needed a boost of some type to take away the dryness and tighten things up.

??? Love the VM, DSL 2203X and the 1959HW. As long as I was able to play them at a loud volume I could live with any of them. But because volume is an issue for me the VM and DSL are better bets.

I want all of these, plus a Germino or Metro Amp plexi.

My favorite Marshall rig I had was a Voodoo amps modded Marshall JMP-1 run into the power section of a Marshall JCM 800 2203. I had my amp tech mod the JCM 800 to have a pre-eq return. That way I could use the full EQ section / presence controls to shape the tone to the room. That's the way the Marshall Sliver Jubilee's effects loop is setup, which I loved. I had 6550s in the JCM 800, and it was some BALLSY tone with the modded JMP-1.

DSL 100 love the Deep option. Really like how the amp takes boost really well.

That is sweet!

Thanks...I have the matching bottom cab as well (you can see it in the background). Between this and my Cameron modded Marshall, I am 100% content with my tone
