Man, all of these Marshalls just blow me away, especially the JMPs! I am so gassin' for one of those. Is there much tonal difference between a JMP and JCM?

2203 from 83. I have two of those beasts !! One was the first serious amp I bought about 18 years ago. I learned to play guitar on it. I paid $300 for the half-stack at the time. The second one I scored recently at a pawn shop. $1000 for the half-stack..

There's a bit of a difference. The Purple People Eater (1974 JMP 100W) is a lot like a Plexi. It's got no MV (a mod I may put in), and is stupid loud. My '79 50W JMP is a lot like a cleaner JCM 800.
