As to when, well, that is going to depend on you guys - and that's all I'm saying for now!

Does that mean they are going to do a Kick Start thing like for the reissued Classic?

Like the sounds on the clips ...

Fryette has another product they will be announcing soon on Facebook...
The attenuator-like product will have total voicing control at any volume, adjustable input and output impedance (4, 8 and 16 ohms), front panel bypass switch, 200W power handling capacity, line outs, and loops - really good loops - between the load and the power section...

(Ugh..I wanted that but it was just exorbitantly priced for me. I tried an EL34 2/50/2 power amp and it sounded awesome! That took care of that itch.)

This little puppy sounds killer.

I live everything Fryette does and I bet this little box will kill! That clip itself sounds amazing and I'm sure in person will only be better.

Neither confirming or denying this, but if we were to do this in a crowd-funded way, we would do it very differently than the Classic...

Would this amp do the pitbull style metal tones?

Check out the clip we posted yesterday, showing off some of the versatility...
(we'll get around to 'real' metal tones at some point - neither Steve nor I is all that good at playing that sort of style, so we're going to have to bring somebody in)

I heard they have revised/tweaked the Pitbull CL's as well. I really miss my old VHT 50/CL and have been thinking about getting another. That Green channel boosted was my favorite high gain tone EVER.

Also a big fan of the green channel - great mix of gain & dynamics...

Hey guys, as some of you might have guessed, we are doing this product as a Kickstarter campaign. We’re proud to announce that the campaign has officially started as of a few hours ago.

Here is a link to the Kickstarter page!

The product is called the Fryette Valvulator GP/DI, and the final price will be $599, though we are offering a 30% discount for the first 50 and 20% for all other contributors to the Kickstarter campaign.

It is a very-low-powered all tube amplifier and direct box with a plethora of input and output options. What you’ve been seeing in the videos is just the amplifier aspect of it!

Follow the link for more info, and stay tuned to that page and our Facebook for ongoing info. We plan to bring you lots of content showing off our new baby!

Please let us know what you’d like to see here, on Facebook, on the Kickstarter comments page, or through e-mail, and we’ll try our best to accommodate any reasonable request.

We’re looking forward to hearing what you guys think about the GP/DI!

I just put in my pledge (I'm #2!) although I already have a 2562. What kinda applications do you guys have in mind for this?

Is Kevin still at Fryette?

No, he isn't, but I (Paul) have taken over most of his responsibilities for now.

What do you want to do with it? It will work as a preamp with your 2|50|2, it will work direct into an AD/DA interface for direct recording, it will work direct into FOH for live use, it will work mic'd up into any regular cab for recording, practice, or low-volume live use, it will work into the power amp (effects return) of another amp for live use or versatility, it will [gasp], it will...

:)

Sorry, had to catch my breath there!
Really, we designed it with versatility in mind, and with an eye towards what recording & at-home musicians have been asking Fryette to give them for years. We also included a high-quality tube direct box with it, both for recall (to make it as easy as possible to re-amp when needed) and to give the end user the maximum amount of options. That being said, we also recognize that a lot of players are looking for a great preamp to use in a live situation, and we included a "preamp out" to accommodate those people.

So, what applications do you want to use it for?

Pledged :D

Glad to be part of the first 50. I'm really looking forward to the final product.

I'm pretty damn tempted to get one of these. Very tempted. Need to hear it do some heavy stuff. I only played a D120 once a couple of years ago for about 20 minutes and really liked it.

Man this thing looks so sweet. Those metal tones could use some tweaking IMO but the features and price point are spot on.

Paul, I actually commented on the Facebook page (my name is Gopal). I currently have a Sig:X, Pittbull Classic, a Mako Mak4, VHT FB-412, and a 2/90/2.

Correct me if I'm wrong here, but I see the GP/DI as all of the following--pardon the terminology if it isn't exactly correct, but it is a:
1. DI Box
2. Single channel preamp
3. 1W Power amp
4. Cab simulator

If any/all of those above utilities could be bypassed, that would be amazing.

First off, I'd add a series effects loop, which would make it possible to use the power section alone or to use it as a normal loop for effects. The preamp out already allows for using the unit as a preamp to feed an external power amp, which is great. I'd also love to be able to use the cab sim alone for monitoring in silent recording situations. As an example:

Recording a band live in the room:
/ DI section of GP/DI-->Interface
Guitar: Guitar--<
\VHT Pittbull Classic (power amp muted) or multichannel preamp(send or line out)-->GP/DI cab simulator-->Interface or headphone amp

The top/DI section is for reamping. The bottom is for monitoring through headphones, with all possibilities included without the constraints of a single channel amp.

I hope I'm making sense. Is it even possible?

Speaking of new products, I think someone should make a 1U Rack Tube Power Amp designed specifically for modelers and FRFR systems. That'd be amazing.
