I was playing my QR this past weekend and it's becoming my "Desert Island" amp more than anything else I own or owned.

I just have that rig dialed in perfectly... LOL!

As do I my friend!

The only models that have the foot-switchable gears are the Single Channel version of the various models: The Competition or Pro Stock. Also, I made a mistake, this is the 4 preamp version, but, does not have the Volume control on the loop. This amp gets very loud very quick, by 11:00 O'Clock, it is already pushing over 100 watts at the peaks according to my Oscilloscope with a 1 Khz sine wave fed into it. I have been servicing this amp for Chubtone for a few years. It is solid, it has only needed tubes and rebias, nothing else...

The gears work great, even in third gear, it doesn't get mushy. But, I prefer 1st gear maxed and toggle between OD1/OD2 if I need a bit more gain. I'll try to make another clip this weekend with the other gears...

The new Quick Rod allows you to switch between gears with a new 4 button footswitch that is a $75 upcharge. I only ever stay on Gear 1 myself so I don't know if it is something I would need. Scott emailed me today to say my next Quick Rod is ready so if you want this one, let's talk. Otherwise, I'm going to put it up for sale next week.

Sucks you can't switch from 1st to 3rd though, there's the only way I would use the additional feature.

Great demo

1st & 3rd gear on the QR are really close EQ wise and very usable. 2nd gear has too much bass to make it usable between 1st & 2nd gear or between 2nd & 3rd gear without separate EQ'ing for each channel.
