One more clip while testing a J75 and a XH75

BTW, this was chubtone's amp. We just swapped headshells...

First I want to violate Mark1970s avatar.

Second....I want to do it again

I have a mint 2010 quickrod, that after some time dialing it in,sounds fantastic...to get what you want out of these amps, you must, must, must spend time w/ em...the payoff is realizing and understanding what Scott was going for on this amp...Out of the other $2500.00+ modded marshall type amps out there, the quickrod does stay true to the marshall vibe a tad more than some others...If I ever move mine,it will only be for a real marshall modded by Freidman...time well spent working a quickrod will payback in great tone...take your time w/ it.

I found the OD channel easy to dial in. It is the clean channel that takes time learning how to dial in. The first thing I noticed is that anytime the OD's gain is above 12:00, the clean channel starts getting softer and darker. I found a happy medium by switching to Gear 2 and setting the gain to 11:30 and then dialing the clean channel to taste. The tone knobs on the clean channel are very interactive. If you move the Bass settings, it affects the treble settings. It was a little frustrating at first, but I have it down now.
I really like this amp. Earlier this year I built a single channel version of this amp for my son and got pretty close to the tone. I sold it for him because he decided guitar was not his thing...

But, even if I built another one for myself, it would still be cheaper to buy a used QR. You would also get all the extra features of the QR in the bargain. I really love this amp...

I ordered mine with only the dirty channel in mind, although it has a clean channel...Its clean can be a little one dimentional at times, compared to my custom shop badcat, and Shiva,ect..But..there are guys here that can upgrade the clean, if need be..anyways, I love the sounds of the "gears" though.. :)
