Stiffer Feeling Strings?

Hey all,

On one of my Suhrs, I have a set of EB Slinky 9-46, tuned to E, that feel looser than I would expect. By comparison, I have a Kiesel Bolt tuned to Eb with 9s that feel the same or even a little tighter than the EB Slinky set.

Was wondering if any of you could recommend a brand or type of strings that feel stiffer than others. I think the newer, higher end lines by most manufacturers tend to fall in the "Stiffer" group but I thought I'd ask and see what others thought.

I know what you mean, some guitars just feel tighter, even though they are the same scale length. I usually just switch up the gauge; I have 9-46, 10-46 and 11-48 depending on tuning and guitar.

This is weird as hell. I have 3 Charvel USA Pro-Mods, and one of them is just stiffer than shit. I do not get it.

I’ve noticed this too.
I have an ‘81 Les Paul custom that feels looser then my 2002 custom for some reason.
Same gauge strings but they feel different.
Odd indeed.
