What options are out there, beyond Nash, Fender Custom Shop?

Any opinions on Nash and others. Looking for the relic vibe but want one with great playability and resonance.

MJT Aged Finishes. You can purchase Warmth, USACG, or Musikraft and have MJT apply the relic finish. You pic all options.

Rock N Roll Relics, K-Line Guitars, Suhr will do a relic for you too.

Check out Switchback and Fano guitars too, although I don't think Fano has a typical Strat model right now. I'm sure you could get one if you give them a call though.

Man, you guys remember that Luxxtone Drew did a couple years back, the black over teal one with the teal dot inlays? That thing haunts my fuckin dreams. I'd go Luxxtone if I were in the market for another relic strat.

why not just buy a guitar, play the shit out of it and let it get dinged up naturally? if you can play, does it matter if the guitar looks old and worn out?

Some people like the looks of a relic guitar and don't necessarily want to wait 40 years for it to look that way. I've had a LP since '98 and barely has any dings and I don't baby my guitars at all.

thanks guys for the recommendations. Actually I have an old beat up strat this naturally reiic'd but the fret board radius is only good for top 40 music and blues blending.

Also, a big Suhr owner. I guess the Luxxtone and others options in terms of playability are as good or better?

I sent my 79 strat neck to Eric's guitar shop and had it compound radiused, re-fretted, shaved, tung oiled and had a 22nd fret added at the top and had MJT paint it Olympic White and relic it up, waiting on the wiring, should have it all done this week. Jackson J80 bridge, Floyd Rose with big brass block, and DiMarzio Virtual Heavy Blues middle and neck positions. Can't wait to play it.

Sounds like a Strat Joe Holmes would love!

Totally remember. I dig it, even though it's not really my thing. I'd vote Lux for a relic!

Relics have a cool vibe to me. Its heartbreaking when you get your first ding on a high end guitar. These kind of take that worry away before you even get it!

For the luxxtones choppa S models, what are the typical turnaround times on these? Although a subjective comment and opinion, is the feel as good or better than the Suhr guitars?

Build your own from good parts (Musikraft, etc.), save a ton and get exactly what you want. That's what I do anyway:

MJT finished the body and I did the rest...

Steve, where do you get the "F" logo Fender neck plates ? I haven't looked for them, but I've never seen them for sale anywhere either...
