Hi folks,

Which Suhr model would you recommend for a Suhr S6 guitar? The guitar would be use for 80’s hard rock and hair metal music.

Thornbucker + ( the plus version, not the regular)

I have one in my R8 and it kills. Very open and clear. I have an Aldrich in a custom, I like it but it’s a little too compressed.

The stock SSH+ that came in mine was perfect when I owned one.

I just ordered a set of Thornbucker plus for my SG so we’ll see how they are.

Thornbuckers can easily do 80s music.

I have them in this and they work great

Either will work, depends on if you want to rely more on your amp giving your gain or the pickups.

I have the Aldrich pickups in a les paul standard and they are great, they split well and also work great in parallel too. They are pretty hot and I often run them in parallel.
The Thornbuckers I have an an ES339 and Les Paul Custom. They are sweeter sounding and have a good balance. They sound a little thin in parallel mode.

No experience with either in a strat style. I run Anderson H2+ in my fat strat and HH tele.
