Synergy JMP module clam outing

You know, I wouldn’t even normally comment, but I have a SUHR SL 67 that I play out at the same cabinet, that’s sitting right on top of the Synergy head.
The Synergy is not lacking at all, and in fact as the Suhr’s equal.
Since they run from two different power supplies, a pre-amp and separate power-amp will lack the synergy of a proper amp, which runs from one. It stares you in the face. Accept it.

If anything this Synergy stuff sounds better. I don’t give a fuck what you use, so your opinion means nothing to me.
I would never take tone advice from any 80s metal detune hacks.

Sounds good! The JMP is not really my style, but I love the JCM800 module. The Killer Kali is in that neighborhood, which I love also.

Yeah, the Synergy stuff relies heavily on what power amp you use with it. I dont think any of my Synergy stuff sounds any less than the big heads, when ran with a comparable power amp.
I already have the Killer Kali, you think the JCM800 would be a disappointment? I keep channel one in the Kali dialed back for classic crunch and channel two for the chugs. I’ve had a few modules that haven’t lasted a week because they are too similar sounding.

The KK has more of a smooth fluid feel to it. The JCM800 has more of that dynamic kerrang crunch to it. There are differences between them, but in the end, they are both in the Marshall family and have similarities because of that. I guess it just depends on how similar is too similar for you.

Yeah, the old Randall system had the right idea by having the big power amp with several tube types, many switchable things, etc... problem is, they are huge, heavy, and complicated. Many people dont want that these days.
I still have my RM100. I have 2 actually. My main one is fully modded including MM transformers. The big iron makes a difference. I'll be keeping them until Synergy decides to go in the opposite direction and put out a 100 watt 3 module slot amp. Then it might be worth the upgrade.

I think the RM100's as is are great sounding amps and better than the Syn amps. Even stock transformers. I have one of those presence / fog lifter boards and I prefer it not even engaged. I think Randall got it right with the first generation amps and all the Lynch modules they put out.

You know what amazes me, every time somebody posts a clip of an amp, guitar or pedal, there’s always the dickhead chorus of my old 1980 piece of shit is much better, and my Randall. Fuck, Randall, the worst fucking company I ever heard of my whole life. I never played Randall, fucking dog shit. Just a fucking clip I put up who gives a shit about your fucking shit Randall.
After I took a shit, I would scoot my ass across your fucking Randall. That’s what I think of Randall and all this other garbage that you claim is better. Where the fuck are you guys playing in the Madison Square Garden, that you need 700 watts. Give me a fucking break.
Fucking Randall the only thing they’re good for is as a doorstop while you’re wheeling in good equipment.

This rant was so good I now feel better about shit that never bothered me. Rants like this make it worth being a member. 😍

Thank you. I don’t even like the clip. I’ll be honest with you. I just was testing the phone close to the amp.
I did like the sound with the Phase 90 on the slow sweep, and my Micro- Tron IV

Some of the newer modules have attempted to address what I think the one guy itt is talking about, with a 0-watt power amp, and it’s pretty impressive.

Since the thread’s already been hijacked, here’s my shite. I use two Syn 1s and stereo fx through their loops. Then I can choose 6L6 (Syn 5050), El34 (Fryette), Dual Victory Powervalve 200s with the EF91 tube, or the Stage ant stereo for class D at 100 watts per channel at any resistance.
Carry on.

The synergy amps aren't the way. But you pair a syn dock with a fryette 2/90/2 and it is God soundView attachment 454148
This is the setup i tried the second time. The first time i tried synergy, it was with the synergy amp, and I was left wanting....but this setup is the best sound I have ever heard and punches like a fucking mule

When I first scrolled by that...I thought..damn, that looks like my set up. Then I realized who posted it. lol

Not sure why Carl is all bent out of shape about Randall. They sound good, so what? It is a side convo. This thread was about synergy plexi and most of us agreed, it sounds really good. I was just interested in how it compared to the Suhr...which you answered. As Bart Simpson said for (maybe) 2 seasons, " don't have a cow man!"

Randall brahma, scary, judge were awesome modules!
