Yes. This makes sense, somewhat. If you play at low volumes, it may be fine.

But if you want punch, go big or go home

I didn’t say it was only good for low volumes. It sounds great turned up. It punches fine out of a 4x12 or a 2x12 cabinet.
Let’s face it, the only place you’re turning that shit up is in your living room or a basement or something. When you go out and play with people, you’re not gonna be able to turn up that loud. It’s like having a really fast car and nowhere to go with it.

Sweetwater is having a really good sale on the Tech 21 Sansamp PSA-1 2.0 pedal for only $129. I considered getting because I dont know if I have ever seen those that cheap, and I remember having and liking the rack unit years ago.

That is insane. I gigged with the original and got unreal tones from that. Not sure how different it is but that is cheap!!

I wish they would make the Syn 50 with big iron and the ability to change tubes. That way you can make a more exact pairing with the pre-amp.

Also make a Syn 100, same deal with the tubes but add three slots. That's really what has held me up from going that as I feel locked in with a 6L6.

This. Syn50, single unit to keep the headshell smaller, power amp controls, ie NFB, Depth, etc. bonus would be 6 loadable IR’s
