Sounds good! And I like this much better than anything I`ve ever heard from Devin Towsnend.

I'm not a big AB fan but I'd rather listen to marathons of their albums then Devin Townsend :bleh: I don't get the love afair that some people around here have with that guy

`

It's because he's amazing. :D He doesn't know what the concept of a filler is. I listened to an Alter Bridge CD for a while and half the songs were fillers IMHO. Just average stuff at best to me. I'd put Alter Bridge there with Shinedown. They're another decent band but their records are filled with dull songs that when you listen to them you'll swear you've heard the song already from someone else dozens of times. At least that's what i got.

Devin Townsend writes some of the most original music I've ever heard. But if he doesn't float your boat then it's all good.

But damm, this is some cool shit.

I don't really care much for Alter bridge either really, different strokes for different folks I guess  If everybody liked the same music then none of us would have shit to talk about   Like they say, variety is the spice of life.

I love the Brootz and EVIL DEAD!

Keep em coming!! :D

Tell me this doesn't rock your socks off. :D

And this is just great songwriting.

Honestly...the more 'modern' rock I hear............

I go back to 'classic' rock on the XM radio. :D

The 1st video was AWESOME!!!
the second............meh.

a different side of his talents:

I'm very open minded about music and I love atmospheric stuff like this. But for straight ahead crushing groove and thrashy metal it's hard to beat Dev.

If Alter Bridge is the best rock has to offer these days, it's no surprise I don't listen to much rock anymore. :aww:

Although I'm a huge Alter Bridge and Myles Kennedy fan, if I were to pick what I consider the best rock band nowadays, I'd undoubtedly say Black Stone Cherry. They're in their mid 20's and yet they sound and feel as if they've been on stage for ages. True rockers, both on the outside and on the inside.

You know i was thinking the same thing. Alter Bridge is an ok band but if that's the best out there then rock is indeed in bad shape. I mean throw AB in the mix back in the day when AC/DC, Journey, Floyd, VH, etc were churning out albums.

As far as rock is concerned, my last favorite rock album was Big Wrecks first one.

I'm into Katatonia at the moment and that's a great band that not many people know about. Check out their "Great Cold Distance" album.

I disagree. AB is more than holding up their genre of hard rock meets mainstream metal. I also disagree that they have a lot of filler on their albums. I mean, not every song is stunning, but the same can be said about most of the "greats" (VH-in fact, I think most of their songs are bad with the exception of a few good/great ones, Floyd-one of my favs, but they have their share of filler:dunno: , journey, etc...)

People will always think they grew up in the golden age of rock because their emotions and memories are tied to the music, and in a way, yes the 70's, 80', and 90's were superior to the current decade of guitar oriented rock, but there are some bands that really still deliver, and in my opinion Alter Bridge are one of them. The latest AIC was amazing, Karnivool is amazing, Opeth, Devin Townsend, etc... There are quite a few really talented and awesome bands out there still.

Black Stone Cherry rocks...I forgot about them! BTW the album is a 5150 rhythm channel!
